Rangers fans call for AGM cool.

Supporters groups have called for composure ahead of Rangers’ AGM, the first to include former Newcastle United director Derek Llambias.

Magpies owner Mike Ashley’s right-hand man will attend tomorrow’s meeting at Ibrox.

The annual review is set to be a stormy affair as shareholders demand answers just days after manager Ally McCoist chose to hand in his resignation notice.

Rangers Union of Fans spokesman Chris Graham has urged those attending to keep calm to ensure the club’s board has no excuse to shy away or retire from conversation.

He said: “There will be a lot of upset people at this AGM wanting answers. But we have already made contact to request that the question-and-answer forum is run properly and gives fans the information and assurances they want.

“Last year it was cut short and we do not want that to happen again. They waffled on for more than an hour, telling us stuff that turned out to be complete nonsense.

“This time we are very much focused on making sure they are made to answer whatever questions people have.

“Those include finding out all the details we can about the Sports Direct deal, and getting to the bottom of the loans the club has taken from Mike Ashley.”

Former striker McCoist quit the club before last Friday’s 2-0 defeat away to Queen of the South, insisting it was time he put his family first.
