After Milan: Uefa bring two charges against Celtic, for team and fan flares

Recommended Posts

Celtic have been hit with two more UEFA charges - one for their fans' behaviour and another for their team's.

Celtic again face a charge relating to supporters letting off fireworks, days after being fined for an identical offence.

But the players have also got the club into trouble after being accused of "improper conduct" during their 1-0 Europa League defeat by Inter Milan.

The improper conduct charge is sparked by a team that receives five or more cards during a game.

Ronny Deila's team had Virgil van Dijk sent off following two bookable offences in the first half of their defeat, which saw them lose 4-3 on aggregate, and a further five players booked.

Time to BAN that lot...who runs UEFA?

Celtic call on fans to shop flaming idiots who triggered latest UEFA charge for lighting flares in Milan

16:39, 27 February 2015

By Record Sport Online

THE Scottish champions have asked for supporters to give them the names of those responsible for the club's SEVENTH Euro charge in just THREE years.

Maybe this club would garner more understanding from neutrals if they had issued a similar headline in asking for the assaulters of young Kieran Murphy to be identified.

Self-serving scum.

Telegraph reporting bull

Meanwhile, Celtic have also been charged with player misconduct because of the five yellow cards - two of them to defender Virgil van Dijk - during the second-leg meeting with Inter. The charge is automatic once a team incurs five cautions in a single match.

No...5 cards, PLUS the two shown to van Dik

The neither know shame nor bounds ...

Celtic to appeal Uefa charges

Celtic will appeal two Uefa charges relating to the behaviour of their fans and their players at the San Siro, where they lost 1-0 to Inter Milan to crash out of the Europa League.

Club officials have asked supporters to name and shame flare-using fans that brought the club into disrepute for the seventh time in a little over three years. Celtic will also appeal the charge against their players’ conduct – brought about as a result of five bookings and the sending off of Virgil van Dijk – when a hearing will take place in Nyon next month.
