Back The Youths At Ibrox

Recommended Posts

RANGERS under-20s will be back in action on Sunday when they take on Ayr United in the crucial semi-final of the SFA Youth Cup at Ibrox Stadium.

Fans can get behind Ian Durrant’s youngsters this weekend with tickets available for just £4 for adults and £1 for kids – on a pay at the gate basis.

The Light Blues are the current holders of the SFA Youth Cup after a dramatic penalty shootout win over an experienced Hearts side at New St Mirren Park last year with Liam Kelly the spot kick hero.

The Gers opened up their defence of the title with a comfortable 4-0 win over Spartans at Ibrox in November.

The youngsters were impressive in the win with strikes from Ryan Sinammon, a Danny Stoney penalty and a brace from Ryan Hardie the difference between the teams. Click for Match Report.

The Rangers youngsters then travelled south to face Queen of the South in the fourth round and progressed thanks to goals from Scot Whiteside and Hardie in the borders. Click For Match Report

The quarter final was held at Ibrox at the end of February and after ninety minutes and a goalless draw – the Gers would win the match from the penalty spot – defeating the Saints 3-2 with that man Kelly the saviour again. Click for Match Report.

Sunday’s opponents are Ayr United who snatched an extra time winner against St Mirren in March after the game had finished one apiece.

The winner of Sunday’s match will take on the victor from the other semi-final between Celtic and Hibernian – which will take place on May 7.
