Raith v Rangers - rearranged for Tues Feb 2nd at 7.45pm

he's got it the wrong way round. The US spelling is the double s. The English spelling is one s

"I believe the rule is that you double the final consonant when both of the following are true:

the consonant ends a stressed syllable or a one-syllable word

the consonant is preceded by a single vowel

As 'cus' is not the stressed syllable, it would not be doubled according to this rule."

The "ss" certainly LOOKS wrong but I also found this to support the blogspot verison that the "ss" is the UK spelling:

verb (used with object), focused, focusing or (especially British) focussed, focussing.

7.

to bring to a focus or into focus; cause to converge on a perceived point:

to focus the lens of a camera.

8.

to concentrate: to focus one's thoughts;

to focus troop deployment in the east.

verb (used without object), focused, focusing or (especially British) focussed, focussing.

9.

to be or become focused:

My eyes have trouble focusing on distant objects.

10.

to direct one's attention or efforts:

Students must focus in class.

OK, it's a rather poor pun but with various weather warnings in force for the weekend and the structural problems resulting in the closure of the Forth Road Bridge, it appears someone is trying to their best to get tomorrow's match in Kirkcaldy postponed.

Looks like "someone" succeeded.
