RST Write to Senior SNP Figures Over IRA Pub Visit

Recommended Posts

I think there will be more SNP voters than many of us would care to admit. And certainly few who will identify with the other parties also.

Our empirical poll for last year's general election was interesting in that sense:

I wasn't on here at the time Frankie and would offer the suggestion that not only is the result of that poll a surprise to me but is the exception. It is also quite probable that the SNP supporters kept quiet on Rangers forums due to the incredible amount of personal abuse some received elsewhere online.

It didn't surprise me all that much. I think Rangers fans are as broad a bunch as any other sector of society and with SLab struggling so badly and the Tories not always a good tactical choice up here, lots of bears joined the popular SNP vote.

Instead of being embarrassed about politics we should be looking to be more organised and more active. Perhaps then we'll see MPs canvassing in Unionist RFC pubs as well as republican Celtic fan pubs.

Also worth noting the FAC opposition to the Offensive Behaviour Act may have resulted in a drop off of Celtic fan support for the SNP - something Humza would be well aware of and keen to address.

What better way to do so with a pint in a Celtic bar that tacitly supports the Republican cause?
