Tommy Gemmell was from an era when he could 'pally' with his 'Old Firm' rivals, many players from the divide didn't have a problem with it, unlike today.

Willie Henderson would on many occasion rip him inside out and wind him up after doing it, Gemmell would if required kick the utter shit out of him when he timed it perfectly...however, the respect they had for each other off the field was outstanding.

Captains of the Old Firm back then for example John Greig and McNeil although not the best of pals off the field had nothing but total respect for each other...look at how Broonaldo behaved at last seasons Scottish Cup S-F pre kick-off!

I suppose hatred for Rangers makes it okay for Brown to behave in that way, but Tommy Gemmell was not just a special player back then, like most in the game in those days he had a professional respect for the opposition too.

RIP Tommy Gemmell.
