Just been watching the 2-2 draw between Newcastle and City which was entertaining stuff. If Liverpool beat Brighton at Anfield they move 11 points clear of City. I feel it's becoming a bridge too far for City to catch up given how rarely Liverpool lose. And City are likely to drop more points along the way. They're surprisingly suspect in defence.

Been flicking between the premier matches and there seems to be an outbreak of bad defending in some of the matches

Just watched Bournemouth score a lovely free kick

Saw the last half hour Mags v City. I like both clubs so I am reasonably unbiased. It seemed that the referee let City away with what used to be called obstruction about half a dozen incidents in that short time.  You just knew, however, that when he eventually gave a foul against Fernandinho Newcastle would score.

Shelvey’s rocket was like a harmless lob compared to de Bruyne’s goal.

I’ll have to swot a bit after the weekend debacle.

Wouldn’t mind going to Deepdale tonight, Preston North End v league leaders West Bromwich Albion. A reprise of the 1953/54 FA Cup Final. Centre forward and club legend Ronnie Allen scored twice for the Albion in their 3-2 victory over a side containing two minor Scottish internationalists, Willie Cunningham and some chap called Docherty. Preston also had the famous Tom Finney.

Albion finished second in the league that season behind Wolves.

Liverpool were relegated, finishing last!
