[FT] Hibernian 0 - 1 Rangers (Roofe 85pen)

Staggering to think that people are debating the penalty. He clearly trips the player in the box. It's clear as day.

It is also staggering but not surprising that they are calling Celtics offside goal on Thursday "tight". There is at least half a yard or more between their striker and the Hearts defender. That is not "tight" whatsoever.

Yup there should have been no need for VAR for either decision. Both clear as day. Beaton got out penalty 100% correct, linesman at Parkhead got their goal 100% wrong. However with VAR, their "goal" is ruled out.

It will depend on who actually watches the pictures. Given how Madden and Co. time and again blatantly get decisions wrong, yet bravely soldier on as top tier referees and linesmen, what can we expect from de facto other Scottish referees sitting behind the screens. Name and shame more of them, of course, but would that change anything?

Wee sidenote, the linesman at the Scumhut that gave TJC`s goal is said to be a former Scumhut ST holder, who is no stranger to controversial decisions.
