CammyF 6,892 Posted September 16, 2007 Share Posted September 16, 2007 I think that WS will play this game cagey and go with a 4-5-1 formation : McGregor Hutton Weir CC Papac SW Fergie Hendami Thommo Run DMB JCD I would like to see WS go with a more attacking 4-4-2 formation (although the above could be described as a 4-3-3 just as easily as a 4-5-1). With Lee McCulloch suspended, Beasley is the only option for the wide left position - unless Charlie Adam gets a surprising recall. If going 4-4-2 team would be along these lines ; McGregor Hutton / SW Weir CC Papac Naismith / SW Fergie Hendami / Thommo Run DMB JCD Cousin No matter what team / formation WS plumps for, lets remember that we, the fans can be the 12th man and lets get behind and stick behind the players charged with getting us our first 3 points of our latest CL adventure. I just worry about Hemdani's match sharpness, hes only played a handfull of games so far this season yet WS will probably bring him in for our biggest game of the season so far. I, like most Rangers fans, would prefer to see us really having a go at these European big guns at Ibrox, lets face it, our objective was to get to this stage so anything now is a bonus, i would love to see WS play 442 and i would go for: -------------McGreggor------------- Hutton-----Cuelar----Weir------Papac Novo---Fergie---Thommo---Beasley --------JCD------Boyd/Cousin------ I thought Thommo had his worst game of the season so far on Saturday but he wasnt exactly given much help from Faye who looked a bit shocked at the pace of the game, im convinced you would see a different performance on Wed if played alongside Fergie again. I havent been overly convinced by Whittakaer's performances recently and would prefer to see Novo on the right. Having Beasley and Novo would leave the middle two isolated, and i don't think Thomson plays well in that formation 4-5-1 to start, three in the middle (Hemdani back in) and play Novo as one of the wide men in midfield 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
