Exclusive Rangers Keeper Dates Gangster's Daughter Behind His Lover's Back

 

RANGERS star Allan McGregor is at the centre of a love triangle involving the daughter of a notorious gangster.

 

The 26-year-old has struck up a close relationship with Stacey O'Donnell, 20, whose dad Hugh is a brothel boss.

 

The s12,000 a week Ibrox goalie has been putting in extra time with Stacey while still sharing a home with girlfriend Bronwyn Campbell, 28.

 

Friends say Bronwyn is "devastated" as McGregor and Stacey have become inseparable and spend most of their time apart talking to each other on the phone.

 

They were also spotted shopping in Glasgow boutiques.

 

Poker player Bronwyn confronted McGregor last week over the time he spends with Stacey and has not been seen since at the luxury flat they share in Glasgow's west end.

 

And sources say Hugh O'Donnell - nicknamed Shug - will not approve of their relationship either.

 

He has links to Glasgow's Seventh Heaven lap dancing club, where Bronwyn works as a manageress.

 

A friend of the couple said: "Bronwyn always knew McGregor and Stacey were mates but she's worried they've become a lot closer.

 

"Stacey and McGregor have been spending a lot of time together and have been spotted out and about by numerous people.

 

"They've also been bombarding each other with phone calls and text messages at all hours of the day. It's been non-stop."

 

The friend said Stacey had met Rangers player Charlie Adam and former Ibrox star Alan Hutton, who is one of McGregor's best friends.

 

She added: "Bronwyn confronted him about his fling and had a real go at him before leaving.

 

"She's devastated because they've been together for a long time and no one knows if her leaving is permanent."

 

Canadian Bronwyn started dating McGregor almost seven years ago while on a visit to Glasgow.

 

They moved into their s920,000 apartment last year.

 

She became a tournament standard poker player after McGregor taught her the game during a rain-soaked holiday in the Dominican Republic.

 

Stacey's dad Hugh, 51, has been one of Scotland's most feared gangland figures for more that 20 years.

 

He is boss of Parkgrove House sex sauna in Glasgow's west end and was jailed last year for living off immoral earnings.

 

O'Donnell was jailed for six months and told to hand over s150,000 of his assets under Proceeds of Crime laws. Despite being worth an estimated s4million, his trial heard O'Donnell still claimed s227 per week in income support.

 

He was also jailed in 1999 after being caught in possession of an offensive weapon.

 

Ex-racehorse owner O'Donnell admitted to paying thousands of pounds in bribes to fix races.

 

And he once stripped a jockey, bundled him into the boot of his car and left him stranded after he bungled a race.

 

One of his henchmen also threatened movie heart-throb Brad Pitt when the actor was spotted chatting up O'Donnell's girlfriend Jillian Lamb in a Glasgow nightclub in 1994.

 

Rangers fan O'Donnell has a string of underworld friends including thugs John Gorman and Ian 'Blink' McDonald.

 

Bentley-driving McGregor broke into the Rangers team under previous manager Paul Le Guen in 2006. He kept his position as the Ibrox number one and is now also a regular in the Scotland squad.

 

Stacey is a regular on the Glasgow club scene and has a passion for designer clothes and handbags.

 

She has a young son and still lives at home with her dad and mum Marion in Bothwell, Lanarkshire.

 

The source added: "Shug has told people in the past that he would never want his daughters to get involved with a footballer - even if he was a Rangers player.

 

"He's been around the block and knows only too well that footballers have women falling at their feet.

 

Last year glamour model Louise Meighan claimed she had sex with McGregor during the Scottish Football Writers' Awards dinner ceremony at Glasgow's Thistle Hotel.

 

She claimed the pair romped in the room she had booked while the event was still in full flow.

 

McGregor, Stacey and Bronwyn all declined to comment last night.
