I've said multiple times, that Tavernier's personal accolades while good, I'd trade all of it for Rangers success, I'd trade it all for a striker that can score goals consistently and a defender that can defend...

 

You're acting like I'm out to get Tav when you've got the same opinion as me, you've said as such - he's on the decline, he'd be better on the bench, and likely shouldn't continue as captain.

 

To say he is a reminder or symbolic of an era of failure isn't untrue, it's simply facts, if you want to argue, go to the trophy room have a wee look around. See if we've fired up all those second places 🙄

 

I'm of an era where Rangers teams won everything and had higher standards.

As regards the appointment, the crucial aspect to it is the alignment of the various parts of the club.

 

If there is a constructive and positive alignment that recruits well, we have a chance.

 

Another vital aspect is Celtic and what state they are in. It looks like they are approaching a transition of sorts, including uncertainty about Rodgers (unless he signs an extension).

 

As it stands, next season isn't as straightforward to predict as a year ago.
