Oh, Cherlie Shaw, he never saw Whaur Alan Morton pit the ba', And when the ba' went in the net Oh Cherlie Shaw, he sat and gret. The English came, and tried their game, To beat the Scots was a' their aim, But Scotland's boys, wi' hearts so stout, Soon put the English team to rout! (Chorus) Ally's Tartan Army! Ally's Tartan Army! We're off to Argentina, And we're gonna shake them all up! Big John Robertson, he's our man, He gets the ball and does what he can, He beats a man, he takes a shot, And the keeper says, "Oh dear, it's hot!" The Dutch came next, we weren't perplexed, Our Gordon Strachan, he was vexed, He ran around, he passed the ball, And soon the Dutch were in a squall! (Chorus) Ally's Tartan Army! Ally's Tartan Army! We're off to Argentina, And we're gonna shake them all up! So come on Scotland, let's all sing, And make the Argentine ground ring, With pipes and drums and voices loud, We'll make our country proud! (Chorus) Ally's Tartan Army! Ally's Tartan Army! We're off to Argentina, And we're gonna shake them all up!

der Berliner 4,187
The Legend of Alan Morton He was a proud young Airdrie lad, Alan Morton was his name. He played for Glasgow Rangers, the left wing was his game. The Ibrox crowd, we loved him so, we cheered him loud and long. And every time he scored a goal, we sang him ‘Follow on.’ And every time he scored a goal, we sang him ‘Follow on.’ Now Alan played his heart away in the Rangers’ Royal Blue. And then one famous Saturday, in Scotland’s darker hue, Young Alan laid the English low, the legend it was born, And every time he scored a goal, we sang him ‘Follow on' And every time he scored a goal, we sang him ‘Follow on.’ At least that is the story my father told to me, He said ‘My son when you’re a man, will you do one thing for me, Each Saturday down Ibrox way, though Alan’s dead and gone, Every time the Glasgow Rangers score, will you sing them: ‘Follow on!’ Every time the Glasgow Rangers score, will you sing them: ‘Follow on!’ Every time the Glasgow Rangers score, will you sing them: Follow on!?
