CammyF 9,473
Not seen this mentioned, but yesterday was the 20th anniversary of Helicopter Sunday. What a day it was - Motherwell managed by former Ranger Terry Butcher winning 2-1 thanks to two late goals from Celtic bound Scott McDonald. Rangers defeating Hibs 1-0 where both teams settled for 1-0 long before the final whistle (score suited both teams). Rangers fans belting out Sunshine On Leith whilst awaiting the arrival of the helicopter/trophy. Marvin Andrews defying all medical advice and somehow managing to play through a serious injury in the title run in. He also delivered the now famous Keep Believing message. We'll all have our stories and memories of that day and I was lucky enough to be there that day. Still can't quite believe what happened in those closing minutes.

Won't have seen it mentioned because it didn't go down well with the supporters tbh, not the actual game obviously - but Rangers making a big deal of the 20th anniversary. This is where we're at, focusing on things we won 20 years ago, while our actual trophy numbers are overtaken. Seeing the Helicopter Sunday stuff didn't bring back joy, brought more contempt of where we are now.

Are we only allowed to remember days like Helicopter Sunday or Barcelona if we're being successful? Edited 6 hours ago by CammyF

Build a sustainable business or the general trend will continue and isolated successes will come when they go through bad spells/transition.
Gonzo79 15,416
Great day. Couldn't get a ticket but was not far from Easter Road. No idea how I got home that day. We really need to stop Paedo FC winning everything.

Barcelona is a different achievement entirely, for example I'm still proud that we reached the Manchester final in 2008, I'm still proud that we got to the final in 2022, but I haven't watched either finals back since. You do you mate, but domestically - I don't think many are quick to bring up past successes, when in current times we're getting absolutely spanked. Helicopter Sunday was a good day, being at Ibrox all locked outside when we won 55 was a good day, winning the league in 7 minutes at Rugby park, great memories for us all personally, no shouting from the rooftops about it these days though.
