Dundee FC held a minute's applause before the SC replay vs Dumbarton tonight for a former director of theirs who passed away. Whatever happened to the traditional minute's silence....

I don't think Clark will be offered a new contract, but he can go out and play for one,or at least put himself in the shop window for other clubs!
He's only 24/25, so there's a decent chance of him still improving if he's given the opportunity, especially under Mark Warburton's guidance.

Making it solar powered would eat into a large part of that budget. I agree it would be great but unless it is hugely subsidised I can't see it being a part of that 450.000 estimate. I would think a good solar system with the needed power would be at least a quarter of that budget. I am no expert though.
Solar panel systems have roughly halved in cost in the past few years pete. A system for a detached house which used to cost say £20k can now be bought and fitted for about £10k.

Disagree regarding putting distance between 2013 and the Club now. 2012-2015 is part of our history. A painful part but one we shouldn't be forgetting easily.
I just don't want to see the Club opening a museum so close to those events and at a time when the events are all so fresh.

At the RST agm Stewart Robertson stated that a solar energy company were interested in putting solar panel on the roofs at Ibrox. He was not sure about the deal as one part of it was that they would need to publicise to all fans.
Now that is seriously interesting!

... and place some solar cells on the roof and get your own power supply! That said, one would have to check which side the roof is actually facing. Not much use if it only catches the Aurora borealis
I think the proposed structure's main sloped roof would be facing somewhere between NNE & NE, but that shouldn't be a major issue as a row of solar panels could easily be angled in the opposite direction.

I'm surprised at that view Zappa and of course they would be my own notes not any attempt to create official Minutes. (It wasn't clear if anyone was taking official Minutes although I suspect that that would amount to a very short record that official statements were read and a Q&A followed.)
I would also point to a "LIKE" from newly elected Director, Greg Marshall posting as the Louden Tavern on RM when I said the same thing on that site and his post
which suggests to me that he doesn't see any issue.
The point was also made that the press were present and I'm quite sure that there is a lot already out there on Twitter but if the powers that be don't want me to post anything on here then fair enough, you guys call the shots.
EDit: I'll add that a picture of the meeting was posted on RM which shows my baldy head and no one asked my permission to do that, nor am I in the last bit concerned. (And yes I know that that is RM and this is Gersnet but either it's a meeting that can be reported or it isn't.)
I'm not interested in what you do on RM, so if you want to bore them over there with your 11 page RF AGM report then please feel free.

That idea that that or something closely resembling it could be standing in what's currently an empty space is very cool indeed.

Folk could debate about the best use (or non-use) of the remaining RFFF money for years, but personally, I think this Academy project concept is first class.
It expands on the existing Academy facilities and provides new ones which clearly improve on what are already world class facilities at Murray Park.
Regarding some previous comments about numbers currently attending our youth games, the Club doesn't publicly encourage fans to attend Academy matches at Murray Park because there's a lack of facilities like these with seating, toilets etc all detached from the main Training Centre complex.
Folk here have also mentioned running costs, but I really don't see any issue in that respect. If it was solar powered the day to day running costs could be virtually zero with the only real cost being the occasional replacement bulb, fluorescent tube etc.
Cleaning and maintenance costs would be minimal too since you'd have to think that existing Murray Park staff should be able to cope with it and if they can't, then can the Club really not afford to hire an extra part-time janitor/caretaker?
Looking at the project proposal from a different angle, another aspect I like about it is that it's not the sort of necessity which the Club itself would be budgeting for any time soon because there's so many things needing done at Ibrox, many of which are necessities which the Club are going to NEED to budget for and spend significant amounts of money on. The £450k being discussed here wouldn't even cover 10% of the work needing done at Ibrox, nowhere near it in fact.
As for a museum, I think the Club should put a lot more distance between itself and the events of 2012 before building a museum. A lot more.

Incidentally, I have 11 pages of notes from the meeting which I will try to type up and post in instalments over the next few days.
Unless you have explicit permission from RF to post your minutes from the meeting here on Gersnet, then I'd advise that you don't post them here.

Six weeks seems like a lengthy initial estimate, does it not?

It's not often I agree with Zappa on here but he appears to be correct when he says the counter only ticks upwards.
That's not a fair way to use what I said because it was only a reply post here based on simple logic.

I snorted aloud when reading the author's complaint about the use of "rats" and other degrading / dehumanising language:
But now I've composed myself I realise I should apologise on behalf of all my fellow Zombies, monkeys, Huns, DOBs, Herrenvolk and Klan members.
That's like something out of a surreal, but worryingly realistic episode of Only an Excuse.

Except Rev MacQuarrie.
He was beaten by Peter Ewart, a Rangers fan with a better CV, far larger social media presence and probably more mates, all of which you'd have to think would be good for scooping up votes.

I was well warned and well aware that by sticking my head above the parapet I would be sniped at from all directions and in that I have not been disappointed.
As has been said by others already here, publicly campaigning (negatively) against some of your fellow candidates wasn't a very wise move and that is putting it very mildly/politely. Did someone advise you to take that negative campaign approach?

Are there really 14k actually paying monthly?
Just guessing here, but I'd imagine that the live RF contributor counter on their website only counts upwards as people buy new subscriptions, but doesn't count downwards as Direct Debits get cancelled.

I voted for myself
I'm sure a few others did too. In your case mate, if you take your own vote off you'd still be a leading candidate in this wee poll, so it's makes very little difference.

In all fairness, they'd be somewhat foolish not to! I'm assuming they feel they're the best candidates for the role, otherwise they wouldn't be standing!
There's nothing wrong with every single candidate voting for themselves as that's completely normal in elections, but I don't think that's what we've seen here. Only a handful of the candidates are Gersnet members, so only a handful will have voted for themselves. Thankfully, there were 7 very clear leaders in our poll, so an extra vote for themselves by a handful of candidates doesn't skew the results.

The people on here voting for Alan Harris must have very short memories.
I'd put money on certain candidates having voted for themselves and Alan would be one of them!

The poll is now closed, but the thread will remain open.

Andy Mclintock has withdrawn from contest.
Anyone know why he's withdrawn?

Dundee are 2-0 up before half-time, so it looks like that's who we'll be facing.
