  1. Actually quite a sad fall from grace for us and them. In recent years we have both loaned players deemed not god enough for Benfica and we bought Feyenoords backup striker for a premium. We have lost out on targets to PSV and the likes of Tillman and sold our best player to Ajax. I know we’re were cannon fodder to the likes of the epl teams. But to see teams in thought of as equals like the Dutch big 3 and portugals big 3 buy and sell us really hits home where we sit in footballs pecking order. our TV deal (or lack of) is killing us and the real power brokers of the SPFL (Dermots minions and friends of) are happy to see it while the other mob remain on top. Food for thought.
  2. Wouldn’t read too much into the Goldson pay cut if he moves to Cyprus, it’s a hive of money laundering. His back pocket pay will likely make up for it.
  3. Absolutely time for Goldson and tav to go. Can’t be having guys on a rapid decline being our highest paid players. Sheer stupidity. They were very good for us at their peak, but that is gone. Tav didn’t have a great year last season and Goldsons form died on its arse after Xmas. It’s time for us all to move on.
  4. Buying players from England and Italy you will need to pay them big wages as they are paid well. Bernardo will need to be paid well to leave Portugal and come to this back water. The answer to the spiraling wage bill problem is simple. Recruit from lower markets and when current players want big deals move them on.
  5. The fact that 3 of our best players have moved to a Turkish also ran jobber outfit and another one is in Cyprus speaks volumes about the quality of our squad.
  6. Nah. Would be surprised if we could afford half that.
  7. I'd rather sit and wait for Shankland and get him next summer for free. No brainer. Hearts would want 2.5 million at least for him.
  8. Some of the biggest clubs in the world loan players, Man U done it past few seasons. Big teams in Italy loan each other players often. Its been part of football for decades which seems to have taken some time to reach Scotland. Other mob FC often loan players and they are supposedly 'cash rich'.
  9. If we didn't loan Sima last season I don't think we win the league cup or compete as long as we did in the league, or in Europe.
  10. I'm sure I read somewhere they were increasing the quotas?
  11. Looks like I was wrong about Birmingham 🤡 20 million for Goldson incoming.
  12. Its not uncommon for a club to continue to play a player the difference in wages when they leave if he takes a drop in wages. For example if he moves from 20k per week to 15k per week elsewhere we continue to pay him 5k per week for the duration of his contract. The player and agent would also get sign on fees etc from the new club. All is not lost its just a bit of cat and mouse playing out and I reckon he will be gone by the time the window 'slams shut'.
  13. Aye the lad does. Webster Snr is working in a football operations role for St Mirren now I think.
  14. Good prospect that lad.
  15. How long for? TBH you cant really miss what you have never had..
  16. Its not the lack of transfer movement that's killing my vibe, its the constant injuries. I have no confidence that a hard pre season and a new physio / sports scientist will fix such a large problem. Hopefully I'm wrong.
  17. I think we actually sold Kamara a season too late and we definitely dropped the ball on Kent and Alfie. Although I think the root cause of our issue is we have no faith in recruitment to replace good players when we do sell, and that goes back to the mindset Gerrard had. And I cant blame him our recruitment has been poor. Last 2 seasons especially. Recruitment under Gerrard was good in comparison.
  18. Thomas Galdames the Chile international going to Russia to all accounts.
