On the Rossiter to Wigan possibility, why would any club take a chance on him after his record with us? More like a loan deal if they had any sense. -

https://stv.tv/amp/1406722-transfer-talk-wigan-want-rossiter-o-connors-dons-exit/?__twitter_impression=true Transfer Talk: Wigan want Rossiter, O'Connor's Dons exit Laura Brannan 23 January 2018 Your daily round up of what’s happening across Scotland and beyond. Exit? Jordan Rossiter hasn't played much but he's attracting interest from down south. SNS We may not have Alexis Sanchez playing piano but we still have our fair share of transfer news north of the border. There's talk of Wigan being keen on Rangers midfielder Jordan Rossiter who has only made 10 appearances for the club since signing in summer 2016. In the opposite direction, Graeme Murty's side have gone back to Hamilton Accies with a second offer for Greg Docherty. Aberdeen were central to most of the window speculation on Monday and they're catching the headlines again today. This time it's Anthony O'Connor because it looks like he won't be renewing his contract which is up at the end of the season.K -
Alex McLeish glad to see Rangers heed his advice and buying British Former Rangers manager Alex McLeish has been impressed by Rangers' recruitment in the January transfer window. ALEX MCLEISH may or may not be in the running for the manager’s position at Rangers come the end of the season, but he has already pointed the way to success for the Ibrox side in terms of their recruitment. The former Rangers boss met with club chiefs for an informal discussion about the role prior to interim manager Graeme Murty being handed the reins until the end of the season. While that ultimately didn’t lead to him being offered the position, he is glad that some of the advice he gave to his old club seems to have sunk in, and is being heeded during the January transfer window. After watching a succession of foreign imports arrive at Ibrox last summer under the instruction of Pedro Caixinha, McLeish was adamant that the club’s recruitment moving forward had to factor in players who knew what the Ibrox club, and Scottish football, were all about, believing that balance to be critical in order to complement talented imports like Alfredo Morelos and Daniel Candeias. His overriding message? Buy British. “When I went in and had an initial chat with Rangers – it wasn’t an interview as such, it was just a wee chat to see what they were thinking – I did explain to them that they had to get players who had that kind of desire and fight, and knew what it was to be a Rangers player,” McLeish said. “That may sound old-fashioned, but it’s about mentality when you play for Rangers. That’s the key to it, and I think that Graeme has been reasonably shrewd. The biggest key to management and coaching is recruitment. “When I saw Pedro Caixinha bringing in all the foreign guys and the unknowns, I thought that it was going to end in tears. I was absolutely correct, because I’ve got all that experience. “I was with Arthur Numan recently at a function, and Arthur was very, very passionate about his introduction to Rangers. Guys in the dressing room like Ian Ferguson saying; ‘you foreign guys don’t know what it’s all about here’, and he gave Arthur and the other guys a real rollicking. Arthur said that really registered with them. http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/15889985.Alex_McLeish_glad_to_see_Rangers_heed_his_advice_by_buying_British/

Hamilton reject 2nd offer, Rangers to return with 3rd offer tonight or tomorrow. -
Why would we do that? We have dodged a bullet and no mistake. As has been said Jackson and the rest have very little if any insider information these days.

Found it, it was the fourlads blog “Rangers this week were given the go ahead to relay and modify the roofs of the Copland, Sandy Jardine and Broomloan stands at a cost of £1m. Work and plans to regenerate the area surrounding the stadium continue with plans for a memorial garden now in public domain. The 150 year celebrations are a massive goal for our board who remain committed to returning our stadium to the stature she deserves. Work will continue to fix the Club Deck roof after the work on the other stands is done. Ibrox is rightfully being restored after years of neglect, something our board promised and are delivering.” -

I think it was mentioned on one of the fourladshadadream blogs. Roof work to a couple of roofs, one was the club deck. Plus other bits and pieces. See if I can find it. -

Greg Docherty and transfer dealings Steven Clifford 10 mins ago Wouldn’t really be the transfer window if there wasn’t a Rangers Rollercoaster somewhere. Whilst Jamie Murphy was stressful enough for us all, Greg Docherty threatens to be just the same. Whilst the obvious answer is to just give Hamilton the cash they desire, we have to trust our board to do what’s right for our club. There is no doubts Rangers are treated differently in Scotland, other teams are allowed to budget and pay in instalments as is common ground all over Europe. Rangers however are treated differently, when Rangers come to town deals are complicated and teams demand money up front and structures are different to anything else other clubs experience. Take the recent Jordan Jones bid, when we placed a bid the furore was a typical response from a Scottish side. It’s more common to turn it into a war and appease a fan base than do what’s best for their club. Good luck to Kilmarnock but I’d be hugely surprised if we went back, personally I hope we don’t. Rangers need to stop being the cash cow for a country determined to hold us to different standards than anyone else. Hearts lost money for Jamie Walker, but it’s ok they didn’t sell to Rangers. Was there so much of a reaction when Preston put in a derisory bid for Josh Windass? No obviously not. So that brings us nicely to Greg Docherty. Rangers bid and once again it became public. Rangers once again dealing with a club making demands they wouldn’t make of other sides, once again a Club determined to make the transfer public. Rangers and Hamilton have yet to reach an agreement but everyone on the Rangers side seem confident and hopeful it will be. The excellent Rocksport radio reported earlier, this deal was close and major break throughs were being made. Since then it’s went a bit quiet. The clubs remain in dialogue and the fanbase wait. I sincerely hope this one can get over the line and there is a lot more business to be done this window. Rangers are actively trying to offload a few and balance the squad, that may determine future business. Plans are underway for next season and Mark Allen is hugely impressing everyone behind the scenes. The stadium, as we mentioned before, is receiving the care it needs and investment is being made. It’s ok to be positive about our club, after all it’s Rangers First, we aren’t here to subsidise others. Congratulations to the young bears today in their fantastic win against Bayern Munich. The future is in good hands with results like this. Aberdeen on Wednesday and hopefully a chance for the team to start an important run of matches, we are capable and a nice chance to see new faces. Hopefully that will include Greg Docherty, let’s hope we can get it done. -

Ally McCoist reckons Rangers fans would back Mike Ashley if he re-invested in the club The billionaire was a controversial figure among the Ibrox support and his involvement was ended last June. BY RECORD SPORT ONLINE 08:28, 19 JAN 2018UPDATED08:58, 19 JAN 2018 Ally McCoist reckons Rangers fans would get behind Mike Ashley if the Newcastle United returned and invested in the club. The billionaire sold his remaining Ibrox shares to fan group Club 1872 and businessman Julian Wolhardt in June 2017. The Light Blues legend was a guest on Alan Brazil's talkSPORT breakfast show and discussion turned to the Sports Direct owner's controversial involvement with Rangers. Mike Ashley insisted Sports Direct's 'underlying profit before tax remains healthy'(Image: Asked if supporters would get behind Ashley if he was willing to pump money into the club, McCoist said: “I think that the fans would get behind anyone that will come in and invests in the club. “Obviously Dave King would have a major say in that because he is still currently there, I genuinely don’t think that there is a massive ill feeling towards Mike Ashley. “I think what Mike Ashley was attempting to do at Rangers was make the best of a situation for himself which, for a businessman, he has done throughout his life. McCoist doesn't think there's much ill-feeling towards Ashley at Rangers(Image: Twitter) Dave King negotiated the end of the Newcastle United owner's involvment at Ibrox “I think there’s a lot of the Rangers support that would welcome somebody coming in with finance who would want to invest in the team and the club.” Ashley's involvement at Ibrox finished last year when chairman Dave King negotiated a deal to end the club's seven-year contract with Sports Direct, announcing a re-structured agreement which was welcomed by fans.
