Rangers fans plan bank protest at Hearts clash
OnlyOneAmoruso replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I don't have that information but I wouldn't imagine so. I would have thought it would be equal ownership. That's just my opinion (before certain posters jump on me for self-publicising (although I'm not sure what publicity I can raise for myself by posting information which is already readily available))- 94 replies

No, apologies if that came across as facetious. King will not be the outright owner of the club.- 94 replies

That's who sprung to mind with myself. I'm not sure if it's been a spelling mistake or not but the name I was given was definitely Masterston not Masterton. You'd hope so- 94 replies

These rumours regarding cutbacks have been flying around for longer than this consortium has been in place I'd imagine. I heard that the business plan had been rejected and delayed until Summer around about November time.- 94 replies

The bid put in by Dave King, Paul Murray and two as yet unnamed investors. The other two I've been told are possibly our current chairman and another who I have absolutely no info on. I only know his surname is Masterston. I'm just passing on what I've heard and yes the majority of it is from Follow Follow but it comes from some people who haven't been wrong in the past, have decent enough connections and also from some who haven't posted it on the board but have heard from other sources.- 94 replies

I think thats the plan. I believe the bank wanted to put in place a plan for this transfer window and the board rejected it but it WILL come into force in the summer should we still be in this state of flux. I'm not sure how much the CL money matters too much in this as pre-summer cull we required this money to pretty much just break even. Things will be different now as you say. At the start of this season I was advocating 2 further seasons of winning the league and (hopefully) gaining CL entry and spending minimally to see our debt be hammered down to approx £5million. If we didn't have a new owner by the summer (which we will in the next few weeks imo) then the bank wouldn't look at this from a footballing sense (ie reduce the debt by competing and gaining prize money), it would just be a summer auction.- 94 replies

Rangers 2 : 0 Hamilton (AET) - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
OnlyOneAmoruso replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
I couldn't agree on Davis re work rate. He's one of the hardest working we have and very mobile imo. Thomson couldn't play it. Perhaps Novo could. Agree 4-4-2 seems to be the best right now. -
Mendes - UPDATE: Will join Sporting over next 48 hours
OnlyOneAmoruso replied to Jim White's topic in Rangers Chat
He's worth a touch more than that calscot One of Brown, McGeady or McDonald will depart this window imo. I sincerely hope it's McDonald as the funds received for McGeady or Brown would benefit Celtc much more than their footballing ability does. -

Horrifying to think we have to sell Pedro Mendes to gain finance to give squad players such as Novo and Broadfoot new contracts. Keep Mendes and promote youth players. -

Fleck at the point of a diamond behind Miller & Boyd could work as well imo. Sadly, we don't have the players capable of playing wide in a diamond and as we have an abundance of central/defensive midfielders, at least 2 of them need to play every game. -
http://www.soccerbase.com/results3.sd?gameid=383331 I was only 2 years out of date with the game I was thinking of. Don't know why I linked the two!

I can't believe you're just disregarding the fact that we didn't have 5 really important players last night. Did you see the team at the end? Down to the absolute bare bones. Wilson is good but to suggest he fills the hole Bougherra leaves is ludicrous. Also to suggest that a midfield pairing of McCulloch and Kevin Thomson should be playing to the same level as Davis & Mendes could in there leaves me scratching my head. Whats the relevance in your point about Mendes not playing since October? He was still missing and added to the other players missing it makes quite the considerable sum. You thought our shooting was poor last night? Did you see the amount of saves the Hamilton goalkeeper had? Some of our link up play was good also imo. Some of your comments leave me to wonder if I was at the same game as you! It's what makes it so fascinating though, I guess -
Rangers 2 : 0 Hamilton (AET) - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
OnlyOneAmoruso replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
We were missing what I would consider our 3 best players. Boyd, Bougherra & Mendes. When you take into account Beasley's form prior to his injury and the form Novo was in on the left wing then thats 5 positions which aren't being filled as best they can due to injury. No team could perform as well in that situation imo. I think you're being overly harsh. -
Was that not the game where Arveladze scored a hat trick against Livingston (or Partick Thistle?!) I have a terrible memory.

Rangers 2 : 0 Hamilton (AET) - Player Ratings and MoM Poll

Thought we played quite well last night. On another day we could have won 6-0. Novo and Miller were very sharp in the first half and Papac and Davis backed them up really well. Almost a 4-2-3-1 formation we started with which appeared quite alien. Hamilton parked the bus after about 60 minutes and it was always going to be tough after that. Considering the players we had out (and yes it does have an effect imo Moody Blue), I thought the performance was good. The best of the year probably (which doesn't exactly say much) -
Except that MIH don't have any amazing turn around figures. They're currently scrabbling around, racing against the clock to refinance hundreds of millions worth of debt in the next couple of weeks. Can you define what aces Murray is holding? As Frankie says, if he was trying to sell Rangers BEFORE the credit crunch and his empire crumbled around him, what makes you think he would want to hang on to it now?

Kirk: I want to stay at Gers
OnlyOneAmoruso replied to Rangers Football Club's topic in Rangers Chat
Really? I'd go as far as to say he's done that to excellent effect in 90% of his games. I can understand people saying he's only been creative in about 5 games, as he isn't supposed to be creative, but to say that? Can't get my head around it at all! -
I honestly didn't know there was anyone who took your stance left. Horrifying how wrong some people can be about situations.

Kirk: I want to stay at Gers
OnlyOneAmoruso replied to Rangers Football Club's topic in Rangers Chat
Just noticed the tangent this thread has went on. I rate Pedro Mendes very highly. Very highly. He is a totally different player from Ferguson, Danny is right about that. Mendes is a deep lying defensive midfielder, a role he played almost to perfection in the first derby of this season. The most common criticism of him is that he flatters to deceive. A criticism that I've never ever heard of a defensive midfielder. How can you flatter to deceive in such a position? I believe people who think this way expect Mendes to transform into Gazza and waltz past 5 defenders before slotting one in from 20 yards. Never been his style and it never will be. I don't believe we've ever had a player such as Mendes at Ibrox and I think some fans are guilty of pigeon holing midfielders into 3 different types. Gattuso, Gazza and Laudrup. If anything different comes along then there is no comparison and unless they are setting the world alight then they flatter to deceive. Watch that first Old Firm game again and tell me Pedro Mendes did not play a brilliant game. Recycled possession at every turn and cut out countless balls aimed for the Celtc strikers. -
I'll direct you to BdTS' post below yours. It is a 100% undeniable fact that David Murray may own the shares, shares that are now worthless. When the bank receive their magic figure (£25m shall we say) then the buyer will get everything. Ibrox, Murray Park, the squad, the monster munch, everything. Lock Stock and Barrel. That's also a fact.

I can't rate the best footballer at the club? I don't like to do this until after they leave usually, but I'll make a tiny exception. I was correct about Boyd, Lafferty and I will second your McGregor comments.

The first two that you claim you're right about you're actually wrong about. Nice start
-
Just so we get this straight mate. Can you clarify your stance right now? You believe no takeover will happen tomorrow, next week, next month even next year correct? What do you think the plan is for the next year or so then? Do you still consider Murray to be the man in charge?

Doctor, I presume you aren't including injured players? My preferred midfield when everyone is fit would be Beasley Davis Mendes Novo. Right now, I'd be happy McCulloch replacing Mendes and Whittaker/Fleck replacing Beasley (obviously Fleck would go left and Novo would go right in this scenario)
