Harry Watling follows the private Rangers instagram account but Michael Beale does not.

One more failed managerial appointment and you'd have to conclude the board doesn't know what it's doing.
Have the board members not changed a few times over the past few years?
I doubt any of our last few managers have had the backing of every board member either.
I am aware these statements provide no solutions 😀

I was being flippant, there, @Waltersgotstyle.
Ostersunds have never been higher than 5th. He took them up from the fourth tier. They're now in the second tier.
He did well at Swansea - I mean, they offered him another contract at the end of the season to fend off Brighton.
His tenure at Brighton speaks for itself. Just because they hired DeZerbi - another coach I rate and have never stopped talking about for years - doesn't negate his work.
I think he was doing fine at Chelsea considering the mess they were in. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad.
He's able to implement a style and be successful with it, usually with underdogs.
We need a coach that can implement a style of play and beat 'superior' teams with it.
To be honest, I'm not even sure he's an option. He'd maybe want a bigger job.
All fair points.
TBH I was just going off of what I have read in regards to their league positions.
I have not really paid attention to how he sets his teams up etc so I can't really argue for or against.
I feel torn as I really like Beale (I've followed him on social media for years and he and his family seem really happy with life in Scotland) however I am not sure he has the experience to turn this around.

Bennett: Hello, Graham? 'Mon.

*Rangers appoint Potter*

Potter finished his last season with Östersund in 5th place.
He then joined Swansea who despite being newly relegated only managed to finish 10th in the English Championship
Yes his time at Brighton was successful but they haven't exactly looked back since he left.
Oh and we all know how Chelsea went.
Are you sure he is the right man for the job?

I have always liked Michael Beale.
He speaks very well and is a thoroughly decent bloke, he and his family love Scotland and really enjoy life up here.
So I really want it to work out for him. (but he is on his last life)

Well one last friendly on Saturday before the season kicks off a week later. MB confirmed tonight it'll be a "trimmed squad" that will travel to Germany so this might give us an idea of which players he believes will be the catalyst for the forthcoming season.
He also said that our European Squad that will be submitted next week and the ommisions from this squad will give a clear indication on who we are looking to move on.
Rumours (hopefully that's all they are) that Beale and Butland had a major bust up, hence he didn't play any part tonight. As I said, hopefully just rumours and no foundation as we can't go into the season with McCrorie and McLaughlin as our keepers.
Where to start with this nonsense

Lundstram is just a distinctly average player and very boring to watch. I wish we could sell and replace.
I could not agree more. He had a purple patch on our Europa league run but he has been woeful of late.

It’s only preseason but that was a hard watch.
No cohesion whatsoever.

By the way, if we re-sign Leon Balogun all of the initial optimism and trust I have in Beale would be killed.
Why on earth you can't trust Leon King as a backup, who has pace, instead of Balogun would blow my mind if explained in a manager interview.
I'm praying that's it's some moron having a laugh spreading it than Beale actually trying to bring him in, criminal.
Leon King needs games to show he can play at this level. He can’t sit on the bench all season, he should be loaned out.

Does anyone have a spare ticket for Newcastle?

I wonder if Defoe will get a chance to be a coach again? I’m sure he still spends a lot of time up here.

I’m more excited by the prospect of Michael Beale being our manager than I was when Gio was rumoured.

Going by this tweet maybe it is not as cut and dry as we think.0 -

victim of own success dafuqI reckon it is due to the fact he got the current squad into the Champions League but was not able to add quality.
I think we all expected a couple of additions on the back of qualification.
If he didn’t qualify for the CL we would probably have had a decent EL run (probably boosting our domestic form due to the lack of confidence shattering results) and he may never have got sacked.

I would love to see Mick Beale come back and be successful. He just seems such a great guy.
I know him and his family were pretty settled out near Balfron but it might be hard to tempt him away from his extended family in London again.

I’ve defended him until now.
it’s time for him to go imo.

SG supposedly wanted to buy Kevin Nisbet from hibz. Hibz asking price was £4m. The board wouldnt back the move. think they got that one right
That is a total myth IMO.

I’m not making any excuses but the loss of Goldson was huge. We were playing well and looking pretty organised. Then Jack went off too.

Kent played the full 90 and was very good.
However I had to go for Colak - the boy is on fire just now.

Lawerence was a huge miss, we had more possession, more passes and yet we had zero cutting edge.
They have pushed the boat out since getting champions league money.1 -

The transfer window is closed and this topic should be too.
Plenty of players out there on a free who would improve our team.
Ross Barkley
Juan Mata
being two.

We need to get these signing on the park and up to speed asap.
I thought he might have been tempted to play 3 at the back today with Davies involved.
Having the physical presence of Davies could also allow us to play Yilmaz and give him free reign to attack.

Ben Davies - Liverpool - £4.23 million - Didn’t play
Rabbi Mantondo - FC Schalke 04 - £2.70 million - Didn’t play
Antonio Colak - PAOK Salonika - £1.89 million
Tom Lawrence - Derby - free transfer - Didn’t play
John Souttar - Heart of Midlothian - Didn’t play
Malik Tillman - Bayern Munich - Loan
Ridvan Yilmaz - £3.60 million - Didn’t play
Over £10m worth of players who for one reason or another didn’t play.
Some questionable signings amongst the above already.
How many of them have truly made us stronger? Tillman? Lawrence? Colak?
I fear for us against Liverpool if that’s what Celtic did to us today.

I was bored at Ibrox today! when you see teams like Kilmarnock it enhances how pish Scottish football is! we were very ponderous today, square passes all the time! why do we just seem to struggle through matches? we need to play with more tempo/aggression/intensity.
Our players always look like they are sluggish, we really do need to get into a rhythm and quickly.
Kilmarnock like Livingston last week had no intention of playing football. The fact that their defender was trying to waste time midway through the first half just confirmed it.
I can’t ever remember teams being this negative during the 90s or early 00s.
Domestic games are quickly becoming horrible to watch.
