Rangers First board election: Gersnet's voting poll...
BrahimHemdani replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Thanks. I'm sure I didn't as i said I didn't take any. I obviously took my own notes about the issues I raised on behalf of "away fans" and the answers that were given and I'm sure I posted about that stuff but then again that was the point wasn't it, open discussion with the fans. -

Firstly genuine thanks for trying to keep me out of trouble. I get in bother for so many things that I don't remember them all though there's usually someone who will remind me. I did hear it was suggested elsewhere that I had posted Minutes of an RFB meeting but I don't think that was correct as I was only at one and didn't take the Minutes. IIRC Rev MacQuarrie took the the Chair and the Minutes. No doubt FS will be quick to correct me if I'm wrong. I did take some Minutes at the initial RF meetings and it may well have been the case that I jumped the gun there but if I did it was in the interests of transparency which is one of the founding principles of that organisation. RF have not published Minutes for nearly 2 years and I supported Brian Bowman last night when he said that that was a ridiculous situation and Brian Donohoe agreed that adopoted Minutes should always be published. -

I don't suppose you'll take advice from me Christine but I would suggest that if a person in your position on the Board of the RST and also representing them at the merger talks makes the kind of statement referred to, you should state explicitly that it is your own opinion. Regardless most people will take it as an informed view, so you might also want to consider if it's best to keep your own counsel until the proposals are released. -

I'm surprised at that view Zappa and of course they would be my own notes not any attempt to create official Minutes. (It wasn't clear if anyone was taking official Minutes although I suspect that that would amount to a very short record that official statements were read and a Q&A followed.) I would also point to a "LIKE" from newly elected Director, Greg Marshall posting as the Louden Tavern on RM when I said the same thing on that site and his post which suggests to me that he doesn't see any issue. The point was also made that the press were present and I'm quite sure that there is a lot already out there on Twitter but if the powers that be don't want me to post anything on here then fair enough, you guys call the shots. EDit: I'll add that a picture of the meeting was posted on RM which shows my baldy head and no one asked my permission to do that, nor am I in the last bit concerned. (And yes I know that that is RM and this is Gersnet but either it's a meeting that can be reported or it isn't.) -
PRESS CONFERENCE | Mark Warburton | 19 Feb 2016

Forthright stuff about plastic pitches. -
This is a downward spiral that is going to be very difficult to stop. The Celtic example clearly shows how easy it is to slip from competing with the Barcelona's of this world to not competing with Molde, if you don't continue to generate and invest the sums of money required. The failure of ALL our Clubs to compete on the European stage has seen us drop to 25th in the Uefa coefficient rankings where the teams finishing 2nd and 3rd in the SPL have to start in the ELQ1 with little chance of progress to the group stages. If we drop another 2 places our Cup Winners will also have to start in Q1 rather than Q2 as at present, not that that will make much difference to the end result. It is easy to envisage a situation where the top nations/clubs will simply set up their own Super European League perhaps with a few token places for the countries that currently get entry at the NCQ3 stage e.g. Russia, Ukraine, Belgium, Netherlands, with or without UEFA's blessing and consign the rest to the current EL.

Rangers First board election: Gersnet's voting poll...

The point was made at the RF AGM last night by one of the unsuccessful candidates, Chris Smith, that Richard Gough had been on Twitter referring to OUR attempt to amalgamate the fans groups, and questioned who is OUR. Perhaps someone who is on Twitter can post the Tweet (if that's the name for an individual post on Twitter?) Incidentally, I have 11 pages of notes from the meeting which I will try to type up and post in instalments over the next few days. Meanwhile back on the OP, I see I did somewhat better in this poll than in the election itself  so thanks to Craig and the other four who voted for me And thanks to all those who posted their constructive comments. -
Apparently rbr is a member, see #488 above.
-
I asked the Membership Secretary for that information on numerous occasions but never received a straight answer. The membership numbers did not match the membership income in the accounts. There was always an issue about this because lapsed members were still counted as members until the following AGM which could be six months or more later, at least that is what I was told. I worked closely with the Board member responsible but to my knowledge, the Gersave accounts were never properly reconciled during my time in office and the auditors did not regard it as part of their remit. For the avoidance of doubt I am not alleging any monetary irregularity here although I had to redraft the Rules to match the way the scheme was being run, rather than vice versa.

RFFF statement - youth development at Auchenhowie proposed
BrahimHemdani replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Rangers FC SHOULD have a museum but it would apear that there may be some plans in that direction or atleast some plans to use EH for a community purpose which might include a museum. I think the RFFF Committee are to be congratulated on bringing forward a good proposal which will provide a lasting benefit to the Club from the fan's contributions. Obvioulsy there are a number of risks as have been highlighted and there would be no point in proceeding unless the Club undertook to maintain the facility and pay ongoing costs. If there should be a shortfall then there may need to be a further appeal or again the Club might underwrite that. Surely anything that helps youth development, even indirectly, is a good idea. -

Perhaps Mr Marshall could shed some light on that. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/SC520806 -
Rangers First board election: Gersnet's voting poll...
BrahimHemdani replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Actually I thought that you cast the other 5 votes for me -
Do you know that for a fact? When I was a fully paid up member, Board member and latterly Secretary of the RST I couldn't find out how many members we had, never mind how many were subscribing to Gersave, who's to say I'd have any more luck if I re-joined as an ordinary member now?
-
That wasn't too difficult to work out.
-
Genuine answer. Because shareholding and the ability to acquire shares and the ability to ingather funds to invest in Club assets is material to the talks.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong but has rbr not been asking the same question? It's as much my business as it is the business of RST Board members to comment on the conduct of the RF election or the relative merits of the various candidates. Has the information been supplied to RST members?
-
You've completely lost me there Christine?
-
It's a material consideration in the merger talks, IMO.
-
Christine is the Treasurer of RST and one of their representaives at the merger talks. I asked her as I have done several times over the past two years how many RST members are contributing monthly to BR; she has consistently refused to answer and obfuscated the issue.
-
Why don't you just answer the question, I'm not the only one who wants to know. Why is it such a big secret?
-
I will add yet again for the benefit of Buster and anyone else who is remotely interested, I do not have an FF login, I was barred years ago and declined a kind offer from Mr Dingwall to reinstate me; you don't need to have login to view threads on the site, my attention was drawn to the comments by a friend and I have reviewed them and quoted the comments about Buster.
-
He asked me to justify my comment about FF and I have done so with two quotations. I won't be discussing Buster's comments further, privately or otherwise.
-
Now who owes who an apology? The line you quote was about me, not about you; I know nothing about you nor do I wish to know anything about you, other than what I have gleaned in the past week.
