He was a cracking midfielder. Think we got him for about £1 million. An absolute bargain.

According to the report published by the SFA on Rangers bringing the game into disrepute.
Paul Murray was more than aware what Craig Whyte was, as were most of the board Martin Bain in particular. No one from that time should ever be allowed back on the Rangers board.
I'm not his biggest fan but to be fair to Paul Murray both he and Alistair Johnston did warn us about Craig Whyte. I think in the last few years of the Sir David Murray reign (even before the bank took over) there was no forward thinking or drive from anyone on that board, Paul Murray included. They were coasting along and hoping for Champions League qualification just so we could turn a profit. That's just not good enough IMO.

No doubt we will find out over the next few days. If it is true it's good to see the club fighting back and show we aren't gonna take any pish from anyone.

Surprised with McColl's comments about Mather but then again I suppose he will be playing hardball. Will Mather remain as CEO if he is no longer on the board?

Very half baked statement from the board. Think we are heading for an EGM unless there is some real compromise from both sides. Stockbridge is the key man for me. Sooner that chancer is out of Ibrox - the better.

He's an absolute disgrace. Good luck signing on ya tit.

To be perfectly honest would you want any of the present mob to be appointed Chairman
Probably not but it's still another problem that's hanging over the club.

Will the new chairman come from the existing board or will an outsider get the job?

Wish all of this nonsense would just end so we can get on with watching a decent team on the park.

IF he is found to have bet against Rangers he should get the sack. Sandaza was given the boot for far less. Innocent until proven guilty at the moment though.

Aye very good Easdale. Wouldn't have shady characters like that anywhere near the Ibrox boardroom.

You wouldn't think so. But who knows with this farce?
God help us if we have guys like the Easdale's having a real influence in the boardroom over the coming years.

Does this make a real difference EGM-wise? The Easdale's are in Green's camp anyway.

I'm sorry but I think this confuses share ownership and a membership scheme once again.
Unless the Club ceases to be a plc, the only way to gain "control" is to buy sufficient shares, ergo the current battle amongst the investors. RST raised £250k when the chips were down, very commendable but doesn't look at what is needed.
If you started with a blank sheet of paper, then the German model is what most fans would go for, I'm sure; sadly we don't have a blank sheet of paper.
But a large membership base would be powerful and influential and could gain Board seats depending on the size of the membership; ultimately the legal structure of the Club might change but I don't see that happening any time soon.
SDM could have given the fans his shares for £1 but the fans didn't have £30M to invest (of course neither did CW, but that is another story).
Masterton & Co wrote off all their debt which is why the fans now own Dunfermline; but the bigger the Club the harder it would be to make that happen, can't see people like CG doing that any time soon, can you? Of course Craig Whyte promised..............
Well we definitely need to have guarantees about board representation. Suppose anything that gives the fans a voice can only be a good thing. Would certainly be a step in the right direction.

I like the idea of a membership scheme but I don't believe it should be implemented until the board is sorted out and we have directors we can actually trust in place. I'd be very concerned that current directors promoting this would be doing so as a sop to the fans and I know they already thought of introducing a half arsed scheme at the start of this season for precisely that reason. This needs to be done properly once the club is secure and the fans can rely on those implementing any scheme.
I think the scheme has to be set up with the ultimate goal of securing 51% of the club. Surely that has to be the goal for every supporter after what has gone on.

It's a great idea and hopefully all Rangers fans can get behind it. Financially it makes so much sense. Fiver a month is affordable to just about every supporter.

Was that the first boardroom coup at Ibrox with Mr Struth pulling the strings along with Roger Simpson? Is the Mr Morton in that article the Wee Blue Devil?

As long as we get a decent finance director I will be happy. Sooner we get Stockbridge out and Blin in the better.

I wonder who Prior will be backing at the EGM then? If I was McColl or Murray I would be on the phone to him.

Agreed.
Given that all our defenders are dropping like flies at the moment Daly might be required at centre half at the weekend
Hopefully Ally doesn't do that. I'd rather big Gasparotto got a start at centre half than Daly.

Just to make my position on here clear and show i'm not hiding, if Green is as it seems supporting Ahmad in suing the club for £3.4 million, I am through with defending him for good.
Fair enough mate. I was a fan of Green when he first came into the club but over the last few months I have really went off him.

Will be nice to have an actual debate with Rangers supporters rather than the organised chaos on other forums.

Big Daly was excellent on Saturday. His link-up really makes a difference to us. The goals will come for him and no doubt he will set a good few for the likes of Clark, Law and Little.

That would be an huge own goal from the Green camp if that were the case. The fans are demanding answers.

The best team I've ever seen at Ibrox was the three months in 1999 before Mols got his knee injury against Bayern. I'm positive our usual midfield was Reyna - Ferguson - GvB - McCann. Big Albertz, Tugay and Kanchelskis struggled to get in the team. Changed days indeed.
