  1. On we go ... James Sands Marco Conterio@marcoconterio #MLS al centro del mercato. I #RangersFC in trattativa per prendere il difensore classe 2000 James Sands in prestito dal #NYCFC. I dettagli su @TuttoMercatoWeb A New York City (their young player of the year), 21-year old centre-back who can also play RB. Contract till 2026, but said to be aiming for Europe, loan with buy option rumoured. James Sands on transfermarkt, contract till 2026
  2. Indeed. How they completely missed the fact that throwing us out of the SPL would see us applying for membership of the SFL by the existing rules and entering the 3rd Division was another complete and utter failure. What makes it even worse is that -after breaking SPL rules - they wanted to force the SFL to break their own rules and place us in the 1st Division. When they hold firm, they started a revolt amongst SFL clubs and disbanded the SFL "for the sake of the greater good of Scottish football" and re-invented the pyramid system (which the formation of the SPL (including our vote) ended - for the greater good of the big clubs ... That is all so bizarre ... and even worse, to this day, the clubs all go along with it.
  3. The SPFL board has been doing a rotten job in terms of agreeing deals for the leagues, yet, as clubs scraped for any penny, they just grab what is available without much opposition. In this case, it seems more like incompetence on their due diligence, though I don`t know what`s Cinch`s stance on the matter is.
  4. Fullbacks are not able to get stop all crosses coming in. None of our best were able to do that, and none today will be able to do that. It is somewhat "interesting" that Barisic is being somewhat put under the microscope, while Tavernier gets a way with far worse - from a defensive point of view. Against Hearts he missed a long diagonal ball towards Mackay, who then turned him inside out and send a shot away that hit the outside of the post. A bit later, he let another chap slip in behind him in the area, who then managed to send a cross into the 6-yard box who was met with a weakish header. The game afterwards, Tavernier had about 50 % of his crosses hitting the first man. "But his overall play" and all that doesn`t really cut it with me. And if he`s the reason that out best prospect and talent ventures to pastures new, well well ... Anyway, this is the transfer thread and we can do our opinionating about this or that play elsewhere. I just hope that our main assets will all go for no less than 10m - hopefully 10m plus. Obviously, I hope that none leaves and we snatch 56, as that will set us very straight financially, with all the guaranteed CL income.
  5. IN - Pablo Torre - Real Santander, 18, AM, Spain, contract till 2025 - LINK - TM OUT - Borna Barisic - Watford - LINK (26 Dec)
  6. Frohe Weihnachten!
  7. ... hence my question whether this was not established in court before? Didn`t the last court case rule that tax was due to be paid on the EBTs et al and hence I assumed that the claim was correct. Then again, BDO disputes the sum, which might be a different thing.
  8. ... when the game and the league is run by your chosen lapdogs, what can you expect. Horrible horrible bunch, from top to bottom.
  9. Some chap over on FF just remarked that both St. Mirren games vs the OF are off ... let´s hope common sense will prevail.
  10. This will go down well at Kerryfail Road ... I have no problem with games being played without crowds for the time being, as bad as it is for those paying and having tickets. At least as long as they don`t come up with some new warped system / plan to suspend football. Last season showed that games can sure be played without crowds, if teams have enough precautions and players at hand. Likewise, if teams have Covid-19-cases in their squad, they should not be forced to play game without a solid first team (sic) compliment of players. Hundreds of games have been postponed for decades past due to bad weather et al, and been played at a later date.
  11. Before we turn this thread into a non-Rangers-related one ... So that is just the "wrongful prosecution scandal". You wonder what the figure of the whole EBT-HMRC chase through the courts has cost the government (i.e. the taxpayer) ... and given the challenge of sums due by BDO, what can actually be expected in return. Likewise, I was under the assumption that the last court rule on the EBTs said that we had to pay some sort of tax for it, since it was deemed some sort of income/wage/whatever after all (due to side-letters, common sense or, again, whatever). So of the 70-90m which were quoted and made us toxic, 30m are already off (you wonder why that was not done/possible before admin et al) and BDO are even challenging the rest too ... which I thought was ruled correct by the last court case?
  12. Yes ... hence the German TV commentary.
  13. Neat, I doubt we had much more fixtures in February ... 🤪
  14. Highlights from the game ... ... and a picture snatched from this thread over on FF
  15. Wee question ... during the first half, could it be that Derry`s Walls was first sung to the tune of Amazing Grace (though it sounded somewhat off) and straight afterwards to the normal tune?
  16. Probably the only way to get away from McPake and Griffiths ...
  17. We`ve had quite a few similar games over the SG reign, games that should not be forgotten when we talk about 55 et al. We`ve kept a clean sheet, but once more at the end had the bar to thank for not losing 2 points. As I said above, we could and should have used our squad differently, as well as switching tactics. But you obviously gladly take these three points and no injuries and damaging yellows all along.
  18. I was expecting a 3-4-3, not Patterson on the left. He`s not that comfortable there. Why we did not utilize Sakala like we did against Hearts is beyond me. Kamara and Lundstram are not going forward that much, Arfield is omitted again and again ... and Morelos is wandering to the wings again. I`d withdraw Lundstram for Sakala and play ... Tavernier - Goldson - Bassey Patterson - Hagi - Kamara - Arfield - Kent Morelos - Sakala
  19. Reading the info on the HP, it looks like ... McGregor Patterson - Tavernier - Goldson - Bassey Lundstram - Kamara - Arfield Hagi - Morelos - Kent ... but I actually wonder whether we just try a 3-at-the-back with Patterson being more used as a winger than a fullback, allowing Hagi to go more central.
  20. ... snatched straight from our German board ... plus this: Rangers Training Gallery Press Conference with Giovanni van Bronckhorst
  21. Saturday - 18. December 2021 - KO 15.00 The Scottish Premiership Ibrox Stadium v Referee – Alan Muir Assistants – Ross Macleod and Ralph Gordon Fourth Official – Graham Grainger Missing - Filip Helander, Nnamdi Ofoborh, Leon Balogun, Ryan Jack, Kemar Roofe Live on Rangers TV!
  22. ... not least when we play the Arabs at Ibrox.
  23. Hardly any wing-play. Hardly any end product from Kent or Tavernier ... and time and again trying to get through the most congested part of the defence - straight through the middle ...
  24. He at least handed Forrest a 2nd yellow after 26 mins at Ibrox earlier this year.
