Rangers administration: questions as club move toward creditor meetings
GovanAllan replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Well one way or the other mate we will find out very soon. -
Is this not under investigation by an independent panel which has not come to a decision, therefore why are the SPL board discussing an ongoing investigation.

Won't be much transfer activity then because we ain't the only ones late to the taxman. More I thnk about that it's never going to happen, if you get in bother every person/company has the right to go to the taxman and arrange a repayment schedule for their tax. Does that make them in breach and a transfer ban imposed.

Again you miss my point where did I say anywhere that buying on the never never is the way forward? If you cant see what I'm talking about thats your fault not mine. Funding on the never never TBK style, is budgeting for essential money needed to run the club on the off chance we get to the last 16 of the CL, if you think that's good business practice I hope you don't run your own business. The Sevco way is filled with many dangers but they have a business plan in place that doesn't rely on money coming in from a fantasy of CL money we will never get near for many years. -

I'll give you your due GS for the blind faith you have in a bunch of cowboys who tried to get the club on the cheap, then fund it on the never never. Then when it all went tits up come to us to bail them out. -

In a normal sensible country I would agree but we live in anything but a normal sensible country.

At the moment we are worth exactly what someone wants to pay for us and by the way all bidders have tried to low ball in this saga it would seem they all agree on that Believe me no one is going to pay 52m on the Bheggers. -

Agree with all that Frankie the return might be a hard pill to swallow but we have no other pills left so we have to hold the nose and gulp. As for how good it will be in the long run we will probably come out just behind, but we will still be here and in a better fiscal state than we have been for a long long time. I see this as a stepping stone to better things and even though the stone is slippy it's a step we have to take. -

Who are they? The Sevco consortium have put their own money in or it's not much of a business deal they are the acting bank. So they have used Ibrox & Auchenhowie against a loan from themselves on something they will own? Confused I hope Green has been looking, that's his job and he's getting too well paid for IMO but if he gets the money in he claims then he will have earned it. Helping to pay Junes bills or this has been for nothing and it's down the plug we go. -

That my friend is easily the most naive take on this whole mess I've heard, what happens to their money if between now and the final payment we go tits up again, it's gone that's the risk they are taking and believe me it takes baws to throw money at us when you've no guarantee its getting thrown back. -

So there's just £2 in the CVA pot then I'm confused. What would you rather have a easily payable loan, paid back in a good time scale or crippling debt that our grandkids & great grandkids are still paying when we are all long gone. -
SFA could be forced to shut Ibrox club down for good

Nobody that's involved in the buyout is doing anything that's illegal that's the difference. If you hate how the business world works theres not much I can do to help that. I find it amazing that after us all agreeing no one will just spunk money on us willy nilly they would be stupid, when somebody does give us money but isn't stupid and wants a return we all cry foul. Bizarre!! -

Yes in a word a good businessman will never use his own money if he can use someone's else's, then split the profit. Capitalism you've got to love it or not. -

And you can bet they would've wanted a return on that money. -

I hear you GS but rightly or wrongly it's who the business world works. I've made money on investments and lost money but it's the devil we have to live with. If the share issue is taken up well the club will profit as well and that is my worry, that the share issue will fail. -

We are not funding the buyout has he asked us for 8.5mill up front, the investors are funding the buyout and want a return + interest the same way a bank does, you do remember those days when banks still lended money to people. I think we all need to get a grip and realise this is how the world turns like it or not. -

Right let's nail this on the head once and for all he's not buying us, he's the front for a group of investors who want a return for their investment it's how the world turns. No businessman uses his own money he goes to the bank and investors. Do you think Paul Murray was using his own money? Of course not. If Murray had went to a bank who would actually have gave him money to buy the club or his Knights do you think they wouldn't have wanted a return for that money. Who was going to pay that? That's right us of course the fans by buying season tickets,so are we still buying the club from him. You think HMRC would've had a hand in drafting the CVA if they hadn't seen the colour of his money. I agree with a lot you say GS but you need to realise no one was going to just plough millions into us without wanting it back at some point. You might not like it but it's how the business world revolves, the quicker we get a handle on this the sounder we will all sleep at night. -
They have a list of sanctions to choose from if they thought we deserved a fine but didn't deserve the ban or expulsion then the fine is all that's left to them. It's their rules and they made it up on the fly because of the screaming for punishment. They then can't go back and say well on second thoughts you do deserve a ban because we are too stupid to implement our own rules.

Cup ban will scupper the CVA do they really want to go there.
