  1. Was Ally supposed to decline the offer of penny shares when Green was handing them out to anyone with a swinging dick and a few grand in their pocket?

Charles Green gave himself 5 million shares for nothing other than being a patter merchant with a big mouth which emitted bullshit & lies.

Green's cronies Imran Ahmad & Richard Hughes got almost another 5 million shares between them plus Hughes made something like half a million quid in interest on the short term loan he provided.

Another point worth making here regarding Ally's shares is that as far as we know Ally still has those shares because he hasn't sold them to make a fast buck, unlike Green, Ahmad & Hughes who all cashed their shares in so that they could line their pockets.

Yes, Ally has made a lot of cash from his salary over the past 3 years, but let's not forget how much of it will have gone to HMRC.

As others have said too, we still don't know if Ally will reinvest any of the money he's made. He did invest some at the last share/rights issue, so can we discount the possibility of him investing some money at the next share issue?

Ally would play a blinder if he offered to accept shares in lieu of salary.

  2. I don't see Steve Bruce as a top ten manager but they could bring off a freak win over United. Much good it will do them because I don't see the Hammers hammering the Magpies.

Bruce certainly aint a top 10 manager, but I have a sneaky feeling Hull could get a wee 1-0 against a Utd who have nothing to play for and Newcastle draw with West Ham. Relegation might actually be the best thing to happen to Newcastle.

  3. Lets not forget the play offs last year. The mighty Hibees wiped the floor with Accies at Hamilton 2-0, going on 6-0. The press waxed lyrical about the Hibs revival. Easter Road? 2-0 to the Accies. I honestly think a draw at Ibrox aint too bad. A single goal win wouldn' t really leave me all that more confident about the return leg. We have got to turn up at Easter Road.

Our away record is better than our home record, so I'd be more confident of getting a win away from Ibrox than at home. I think a draw would be an acceptable result as it would mean that Hibs have to come at us at Easter Road; what we really don't want is for us to lose at home and have to chase the game away, letting them pick us off on the break.

  4. Go tell real Madrid then. This is a hugely well documented issue.

Just off the phone to Real. I told them "gs says you can't win trophies with Ronaldo in your team making 22 Assists and scoring 58 goals, although you did win the Champions League and the Spanish cup when he scored fewer goals and made fewer assists and the Spanish League tile when he scored more goals with fewer assists."

They said they'd get back to me once they'd worked that one out.

  5. He's greedy.

22 Assists this season compared to 15 last season and 12 the season before would indicate that he's becoming less and less greedy and more of a team player.

  6. Vuckic is the most naturally talent player in our team and has been a stand out in nearly every game he has played.

Vuckic is the only player, apart from Wallace, who would have been good enough for our pre 2012 team - although, having said that, Nicky Law is starting to show flashes of what could be and I thought he was MoM on Sunday.

  7. in the past. The problem is just now.

Maybe a new manager will get him playing like he is in a team sport again.

This season he has had more assists as well as scoring more goals than ever before. How exactly is he not playing like he's in a team sport?

  8. Fairly sure that's looking like barcas haul this year not there's.

Indeed on checking it they can't win any of it.

Your quote was "they can't win trophies with him in their team."

Did you mean only this season? If so, what about the previous seasons when they have won trophies with him in the team?

  9. Craig i totally agree with you, in that celtic fans are the worst i've ever known for fake offense. They'll run through an IRA songbook and then express outrage at being called a ******. You couldn't make it up.

A lot of them also believe that if scotland became independent, protestant mobs would be attacking them, the SNP are anti catholic, the BBC are anti catholic etc .The hardcore support seem to be as unionist as rangers fans, yet irish republicans (well for 90 minutes anyway)- It's quite bizarre. I'm not sure if it is a view held in general or just amongst their online community.

In my experience, it's fairly widespread. I've been called a Tartan Tory (???!!!) and a closet Unionist ( 2 x ???!!!) by some of the more mental tims, purely on the basis that I'm a Rangers fan, whilst these same people will only ever vote Labour (a unionist party with Tory-lite policies). Like some of our own, the more deranged Tims cannot believe a Rangers fan can be SNP, left-wing and anti-royalist and they genuinely seem to think that anything I say on any of these subjects is some kind of trap I'm setting for them.

If Carling did hypocrisy, they'd put a shamrock on the can.

At least our lunatic fringe is honest in their lunacy.

  10. And I couldn't agree more with you on this. However, and this is something that should NEVER be forgotten.... Rangers fans were fine with the whole notion of chants at football being "banter" and fans generally were "90 minute bigots". If you want to point any fingers at anyone for the monstrosity of a Communications Act we now have then point to those in the East End of Glasgow. They decided that, in their hatred of all things Rangers, that they would en masse start creating as much of a problem for Rangers as they could by being perennially mock offended. It is THEY who created this lunacy.

But you are literally saying that Rangers fans should just embrace the word hun and ignore the carnage that has been created from their faux outrage at being called fen1ans. That old adage applies, "you made your bed so lie in it". Given they created the beast why should Rangers fans just lay down with a whimper ?

As a "neutralscot" I would have anticipated that you would have been a bit more balanced in your approach to this.

tend to agree with the first paragraph. This whole situation comes largely from Timmy wanting to neutralise the greatest chant in Football, which they have managed to do because we were, as usual, to dumb to play smart. All we needed to do was change one word and it would have been fine; but, oh no, not us.

FWIW, I also think our resident hibee has been very balanced in his contribution.

  11. What punishment are we asking to be inflicted on O'H? I don't think anyone is calling for conviction and sentence retrospectively. It's just that the SNP make such a fuss about inclusiveness and not being nasty it's not unreasonable to expect them to distance themselves from the culprit. Publicly deploring his conduct a last warning with regard to future behaviour would do. Possibly lighted matches under the fingernails as well.

I don't see a great difference between this case and Findlay's except, of course, DF wasn't offering himself for public office where he would take part in telling the rest of us what to do.

Of course no one is asking for conviction - since no crime was committed, but the hard of thinking are calling for all manner of sundry punishments, sacking, expulsion, suspension and whatever else that embarrassment of an email was asking for. The SNP released a statement saying that O'Hara apologised for the use of the term, which was made some years ago and noted that the football landscape had developed considerably since and that he wouldn't use the term nowadays.

This witch hunt about the use of a term 8 years ago which may or may not have been intended in a sectarian fashion (and all the evidence, or lack thereof indicates it was not intended as a sectarian slur) is utterly pathetic and embarrassing.

  12. All three are vile Rangers hating scum, to watch Rangers fans trying to excuse O'Hara's vile behaviour simply on the basis of being an SNP MP is frankly rather sad but I'm sure we'll see them excusing a lot worse in the not so distant future to fit in with their by any means necessary campaign.

I can certainly see why you Tories want to abolish the Human Rights Act since it is a basic human right not to be punished for something which wasn't illegal when you did it.

  13. I'm a RST member and find this pathetic. The guy made a comment before the Scot. Gov. brought in their new law. It was years ago and the guy has since apologised. Are the RST going after all who in the past used the term ****** ? Did the RST go after john Reid or George Galloway for singing songs in support of the IRA ?

Well the Galloway and Reid were in the same Better Together bed, so I suspect not. Once you've lain with dogs, it's best not to check too closely for fleas.

As for this email - pathetic, illiterate and embarrassing.

  14. If HC go down, Jelavic and Aluko might get transfers to bigger and better clubs such as, well, maybe er, WBA? Quite like the Baggies but not keen on Pulis but he knows how to keep a team safe.

I'd take both or either of them back in a heartbeat. I know their wages would be an issue, but if we offered them 5 year deals at a lower wage, I wonder if they'd bite.

  15. I think Sunderland have to beat Leicester to survive. They won't get any points from the other two fixtures. Magpies should just make it. I won't be sad if Hull go down.

Simplistic I know, but I want Hull to stay up for the sakes of Jelavic and Aluko and Newcastle to get relegated so that the poor buggers at least have a chance of starting to get their club back.

  16. So much of attending games has to do with habit - and once the habit is broken, it's hard to get back into it. When you have a season ticket, you just go to games. You don't think about it. the game's on; you go. Simple as that. But if you don't have a season ticket and have to think about forking out every time, arranging lifts or driving through on your own the hassel factor rises and it's more difficult to make the effort.

That's why the damage that the previous bunch of con-artists and crooks was so serious and long lasting. We will have permanently lost thousands of fans after the boycott and it will take time and success to get the next generation to come.
