  1. No. If we are going to sell our soul for a quick buck, we can at least make sure it is of significant benefit to the team. Selling the naming rights for less than they are worth stinks of cheap advertising form ashley, helped by his buddy green. Have you got any idea how much it costs to get your companies name on national tv, radio and newspapers every week? I can assure you, it will be a lot more than that geordie prick is paying us for the pleasure of it.
  2. The quicker we get back to the top league, and start finishing a few seasons 15/20 points behind the ********, the quicker people will wake up and smell the coffee. I'm starting think green is happy we got demoted to div 3. More or less the same income, without the added pressure of actually running Rangers the way it deserves. To compete with celtic, we cannot make any profit whatsoever. This has been the reality of Scottish football for 2 decades. 33% of turnover on players will see us never again in the CL. Quite at odds with greens promise to be here until he hears the CL music. I hope we are all prepared to watch them life title after title for the next decade and probably get 10 in a row. That's the reality of our wonderful new business model.
  3. The difference between having sponsors on shirts, and re-naming the stadium are pretty stark and obvious in terms of the media. They never say, lets go check on Rangers, sponsored by Tennents, but they do say, lets go check on Rangers at Ibrox/Sports direct stadium. A crucial difference for me in that argument. It's blatantly clear why Ashley has now become invovled with us. If his own club wont accept a name change of stadium, why the fuck should we accept it. Will it make us so much stronger-NO. Will it help us win the CL-NO. Will it make us a laughing stock-Quite probably. At a time when we are telling anyone that will listen that we are still the same club, along come these twats to change one of the most recognisable things about us. The name of our stadium. Maybe I would feel differently if I was 100% sure of all this "extra money" being used on players. But that I very much doubt. We now have hungry shareholders to satsify, and to fuck with any thoughts of tradition, and being a little bit different from most other clubs. It will ba a sad day indeed, the day this stupid fucking sell-out new name goes above Ibrox. Fuck you green, and fuck you ashley.
  4. Watching the game on tv means that you have in some way contributed to a sky subscription. You pay Sky, they then pay football teams for the privilege to film live football. Thousands of bears watching the game will give it high viewing figures, therefore encouraging Sky to renew any Scottish football contracts, thus filling the pockets of all our "enemies". If you're going to boycott this match for some sort of moral reason, at least have the courage of your convictions. Whether you like it or not, watching the game on tv contributes to DU's finances. In the present, and the future.
  5. Are you just guessing at that, or do you have actual figures? What exactly does that mean anyway? You mean biggest one-off stream of income, or overall we are their main source of income? Either way, it doesn't really apply to this game, seeing as we get roughly half the gate.
  6. Of course a tv boycott is unworkable. I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of some fans castigating others for attempting to go, then sitting watching it on sky. Cancelling your sky sub would have hurt all the spl teams more than a cup game boycott ever could. Even watching this game on tv, in great numbers, encourages SKY to offer them all a new, or better deal next year. Where do you draw the line of boycotting activity?
  7. Fair enough. None of my business either way.....
  8. You are aware that watching it on tv also fills DU's pockets? So are you watching it on tv, or not?
  9. Meh, we're football fans, we watch football. Would your attitude change if it wasn't on the box? By rights, you should also boycott your telly. Making Bears feel guilty for going to watch us, is never justified, for whatever reason.
  10. Yes, I agree. An spl league boycott makes more sense. This one doesn't.
  11. Don't tell me what to do.
  12. Not accurate, but not un-true. Probably re the amount of dough.
  13. lol, what did he say? He started it to be fair.
  14. I feel dirty searching for their website....
  15. The thing is, we would screw them more if we boycotted any replay, but that will never happen. So, it's just a symbolic waste of time, and leaving our few fans that do travel, in possible danger. Imagine we beat them, and you're not there to enjoy the look on their stupid faces. All for what?
  16. I take it the wife is a FF member then , if she's so heavily pro-boycott
  17. Keep reminding me all you want, it doesn't bother me if a green fanboi doesn't like how I support my team. Don't forget half the money goes to charity, so by boycotting, you are also denying them money. I feel much happier about erskine getting my dough, than I do about green getting it. I've asked you before and you couldn't answer, but why are we boycotting exactly? Please dont give me that pish about the abandoned game again. Motherwll, and Caley both didn't vote us back to the spl either, but both got a nice payday off us, much more than DU stood to get. The hypocrisy of this boycott is strong. I await your usual, "we cant boycott home games" patter. I really hope this game ends a draw, just to hear you justify why you are going, and filling Thompson's pockets x10.
  18. You think I'll travel 700 odd miles round trip just to defy green? Behave man. I'm going to support the team, when they will probably need us most. They hardly need any help to beat the likes of Berwick. I'm not that mad at green about this. He's just doing what FF tells him on this one, to stay popular. I'm not jumping about saying people are not proper supporters because they want to boycott. You should try give those that dont agree with you the same privilege.
  19. Aye, it's easy for green to boycot this tie, but let's see him do the same if there is a replay. It's not hard to have this moral crusade when all you will lose is a few thousand. Let's see him commit the proceeds of any replay to charity. I'm just as pissed off at our support, as I am at green on this one. DU wernt the cause of all our troubles. Neither were celtic or the sheep shaggers. What is the point if we cant go watch us play? We should be careful what we wish for....
  20. Mr green is so lucky to have loyal, subservient supporters like your good self.....
  21. Ah, yes. I heard about that on another forum. Ridiculous. Some zoomer threatening to use violence on fellow fans for watching our team. You couldn't make it up.
  22. Are you going forlan?
  23. Believe it or not, some fans don't read forums or listen much to greens pish. Some of us just want to watch the team and cant bothered with stupid one-upmanship politics. Not sure why you think some of our support would go up there looking for bother. Strange thing to say.
  24. lol, aye, it's just like that....Jesus wept. Does anyone know how much the tickets are?
  25. Here 2 minutes and changing a 100 odd years of history. Get him tae fuck. It doesn't matter how much he says we are getting. He talks a load of shite.
