  1. Not how i'd expect a Rangers manager to conduct himself in the media.

Normally, I would agree with you 100% STB, but there's a war going on here and this is the main protagonists positioning themselves for the ensuing battle.

It's not an excuse and certainly not pretty, but it probably won't improve until this boardroom situation is resolved.

  2. With the new squad being unable to be fielded until September, August was always going to be a case of grit your teeth and bear it. Hence Green had to act before McCoist could get his first 11 on the pitch. How many of the fans would still be worrying about the Forfar result if the new team looks good on the pitch performance wise after the start of September. If the new squad does well it would have weakened Green's hand, if he can remove McCoist before this he can put it down to whoever the yes man that he would bring in doing a great job.

To all of those who want McCoist out be very careful what you wish for.

IMHO, mate, I don't think Green's comments were in any way football related. They were intended to destabilise. Green, for all his faults, is no mug. He knows McColl is buying up shares and there's a messy boardroom battle coming. Publicly putting pressure on Ally and therefore Walter, was clearly a ploy to make their positions untenable, and with Walter resigning today, it's worked. The less allies McColl has on the board come the battle, the better.

No matter what I think of Ally's ability as a manager, I wouldn't wish the sort of pressure he's going to be under on him. Good luck Ally, you're going to need it.

  3. Me too mate, silence from certain persons is suspicious. Or maybe someone over at our club thinks like me and doesn't see the need to comment every bullshit proposal that comes through.

Yeah, you could be right. We were that used to having CG jumping at the chance to pass comment on just about everything. Maybe it'll be different now.

  4. Big no on this. Every day another deluded reconstruction idea. I can't take this seriously anymore.

I've got a wee sneaky feeling, no facts, just a feeling, that this will happen, including us being in an SPL2. The main players in all of this are eerily quiet.

Usually, you'd here some sort of yae or nae from someone.........Christ....I'm paranoid :shifty:

  5. Surely the current SPL clubs have been told that there will be more TV money in order for them to agree to any sharing of funds with an SPL2. They are dying a death(we think) with what they've got now.

Therefore, the only way to get those extra funds, is to have Rangers involved in the new league. Hence the reason for my previous questions.

I don't believe for a minute SKY would offer up any extra cash for an SPL2 without our involvement.

  6. I've not read every post on this topic, so I'll apologise in advance if this question has already been asked and answered.

Does anybody believe that we(Rangers) are involved in any of this? Is there a chance these moves towards an SPL2 have been initiated by any deals that have been done by ourselves and the powers that be?

  7. If we don't join, all they have is a change in the name of their league. They'll have no more money, no more fans, no more prospect of survival for many of them than they do now.

We should not touch this with a bargepole.

Yeah, that's my point. If they invite us into this league, are they basically admitting they're on their knees and they're desperate for us to join. Therefore, giving us the power to get what we want out of it.

If it was me(and it isn't) I would only except if certain demands are met.

  8. Maybe, just maybe Ian, they're under performing because of inept coaching. Obviously none of us are privy to what goes on at training, but I'd hope the coaches would look at their own contribution, rather than look to lay the blame everywhere else. Some of the comments from coaching staff, in regards to the young players has been really disappointing imo. they may be trying some reverse psychology, personally I think they're more likely to be counter productive.

Also, what certain people need to understand is any talented youngster in the past breaking into the first team was surrounded by quality(differing degrees)experienced players who bore all the pressure. These guys have had, what must feel like, the whole world dumped on their shoulders. If they're going to keep hearing those sort of comments from the coaching staff, there's more than a good chance we won't get the best out of them.

So Ian, have a wee look at yourself and your fellow coaches before criticising others.

  9. Agree with FS, not sure you can deem winning a league title a failure. In saying that, I think winning the league was a given to most Bears, it's the lack of progress on the pitch that many, including myself, find the most disappointing.

  10. Not even one of the worst in recent memory. Don't play in a European cup final for a team like Rangers and be one of the worst ever players. Complete nonsense probably driven by players self-serving actions with the financial situation and drop to div 3.

Maybe so mate, I'll admit there was one or two decent moments in his Gers career, like skinning McGeady in an OF game at Ibrox, that was memorable.

But overall, I think it's a sad indication of the acceptance of at best, mediocrity at Rangers in recent times. If a player of KB's ability is what is deemed acceptable at our great club, then that saddens me.

A one year contract at a championship club, is a clear indication of the man's worth as a footballer.
