Whats the best way to get updates. Rangers Twitter is about 10 mins behind and BBC has yet to report any action despite the game being on for 17 mins

There’s not a huge amount happening to be honest. Ufa trying to slow game down and a lot of petty fouls. Hard to get anything going.

    RTV buffering like buggery too

John is/was a 1st team regular, with several years left on his contract.  He's 23 & a Wales international....£800k is embarrassing!!!!

His value is determined by what others are willing to pay and his value to us. Like several others, he’s been touted around clubs all summer and this is what’s on offer. We’re not exactly beating away suitors with a shitty stick and he’s clearly surplus to requirements.

I’m pleased we’ve got anything at all.

Going by the way the Brighton fans have praised him and the fact they're disappointed to lose him, this seems like a key signing for Gerrard.

    :)

Had a pint with an old school friend last weekend who has a Brighton season ticket. He said 'you can't have him. we need him'.

Big, brave, honest stopper, though better on the ball than that makes him sound, good in the air and not slow. And seems a good bloke too. He's hardly the next Baresi but does everything you want a centre back to do pretty well.

£3.5M for a guy who’s not played all that much in the last 2 years, seems excessive.

I'd be very pleased to get him for that. He's in demand. Seems we're trying to get this tied up early before anyone else moves for him.

Had a pint with an old school friend who's a Brighton season ticket holder and he said "you can't have him. we need to keep him".

If Goldson is genuinely rated in England and physically ok, he's out of our price range.

If an EPL club are prepared to accept 3M, something isn't quite as 'advertised'.

I don’t think Brighton will hold him to ransom as he’s been a good servant but can’t see us winning a bidding war for him

Never seen the guy play but he fits the profile of the kind of signing we should go for and I'm quite excited about him.

Although England is an expensive market it doesn’t follow that every player is overpriced.

Goldson appears to have been 3rd choice centre back at Brighton and was very unlucky to be behind Dunk and Duffy (record signing) who both played all but 1 league match! Centre back is a position which is rarely substituted too which explains how few appearances he made last season.

He’s decent: does everything a centre back needs to pretty well. Hughton rates him and has even tried three at the back to accommodate him alongside Dunk and Duffy who were both immense this season. I strongly doubt we’ll be the only bidder for Goldson though.

  7. Hughton likes Goldson and I doubt he’s going anywhere unless they get cover. But everyone knows he wants to play more and he’ll struggle to dislodge Dunk and Murphy in Brighton’s defence.

In what is is my first and probably last ever ITK post, Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn was mentioned to me as a possible loan. Might go nowhere, of course but I believe the interest is genuine

  8. It’s free content put together by blokes in their spare time so a bit of perspective required. But it’s usually  very enjoyable. Personally, I like that it’s just them giving their views rather than pretending to disagree to set up a staged argument.  Almost always disagree with anything Cameron Bell says, mind. The patreon subscription is farcically good value.

gersnet one has made a good start too.

Do we know Kelly & McCrorie(GK) are good enough?

That’s where the DoF justifies his wage. But, if they’re not, we can get a keeper in a couple of seasons.

I think it’s would be a mistake to let him go when his stock has fallen. 6/12 months in a much stronger side will bring the best out of him. Definitely good enough to be in a title winning side in my opinion but preferably not up front alone.

Rather sell if he doesn’t want to be here, which is certainly the impression he’s given

Whilst I'm not against MacGregor returning can we now concentrate on bringing in younger players ?

We've still got too many players in their 30's with no sell-on value

The impression given is that Shagger’s filling in for a couple of seasons until Kelly and McCrorie are ready for the first team. Proper succession planning!
