4-5 key acquisitions is half a team. I would call that a major overhaul.
We’ve not had a spine to the team since relegation, have we?

He evidently wasn't as his approach has led to the sacking and/or suspension of two players.
True. Sounds like it’s got so poisonous that kicked off anyway. Don’t buy the ‘showing some passion’ angle on this, personally. Showed no fight on the pitch and post match tantrums don’t make up for that

Which do you prefer? Players going mental after that totally unacceptable performance or a manager saying he won't be saying anything to the players because there will be conflict?
I think what he said was that it was too raw to analyse immediately after because everyone was too angry to discuss it rationally. He was evidently right about that.

Well this has escalated quickly. Only a month ago that everything seemed to be going ok. The last league defeat to ‘the other side of the Old Firm’ was disappointing but the performance was pretty promising and now this. What the fuck’s happened?

The midfield 3 is the area we tend to struggle.
Goalkeeper, defence and attack...I don't see much difference other than subs bench.
Middle is where they have a distinct edge. Brown and Ntcham are good at retaining possession and setting things up..Rogic is a danger going forward. We have to hope our midfield lads play above themselves and Murty gives them a chance with the set-up.
Murty’s done what, I think, most of us wanted him to with the midfield. Just hope they step up. And Broonie shits himself, obviously

Hopefully a metaphor for their midfield today.

Having someone like Candeias on the bench wouldn't be such a bad thing in that even if he doesn't start, he can still play an important part in the game.
I think we have to prioritise giving protection to the centre-backs and being solid in midfield.
With that you look to keep a clean sheet and build a base from which to work from.
Exposing our flanks far too much with your suggested line up. The idea of leaving them a free run at our full backs scares the shit out of me.
Agree with Ian. Better keeping Candeias and Murphy, sticking Dorrans 'in the hole', McCrorie screening and Docherty trying to do a bit of defending and attacking as required? I'd rather play McCrorie in defence to be honest but central midfield needs some tackling. Guess Holt could come into midfield McCrorie drop back. But it's a fine state of affairs that we have two experienced international centre backs in the squad and I'd rather be playing two kids.

That i’m angry we didn’t win after that first half performance is a positive, I suppose

Windasss has been anonymous for weeks. He must be dropped and I would get him off at HT. Martin having a nightmare too.
He’s been a goal threat even when playing badly but not even that now. Makes us short up front and light in midfield

Tough one! what any off us think won't matter.
If you step back from the result against the scum we have improved big time, Murty seems to also be getting the best out of the players who were already here , he has also had a good January transfer window and has us playing the kind of football we all want to see he has also had a good January transfer window.
He is learning as well. I am glad we never got McInnes from the sheep,£1m + was what was spoken about to get him from the sheep.
I can't think of any manager I would want to take the Rangers job? but then I don't watch much football other than Rangers! I don't see many names flying about either.
Should he get the job full time? I personally think he is doing well, he has a good relationship with the players & DOF, will a new manager have the same? if we win the Scottish cup and finish the league in a comfortable 2nd place he might get it? if we don't win the cup I am not sure?.
This, mostly. We look like a team that's being coached properly and, for the most part, more than the sum of its parts. Whether he should get it depends slightly on the alternatives available but, in the absence of Dave King learning to keech diamonds, we're looking at steady progress rather than overhaul and he seems like he might well-suited to that.

A bit of perspective from a neutral’s perspective from the Guardian minute-by-minute report:
“A game of pace, aggression, attitude and skill – along with plenty of affirming hatred – featuring four great goals, one very good goal, a red card, and a title more or less decided; Celtic are now nine points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand. However, make no mistake: Rangers are on the way back, nurturing a compelling youthfulness and swagger. If they can add some control, they’ll be a serious force next season,”

that was seriously fucking stupid (assuming it's real)

Rather not have drawn them but, for the first time in a while, they’ll be thinking that too

Murphy doesn't look good there. Don't want to be playing Halliday and Hodson down that side

We are playing some very decent stuff.
Accies have had two shots on goal and scored twice, both nice hits but poorly defended
Thanks. Saw the score long after 35 mins looks insane

You can have a debate about whether the hospitality expenditure is value for money but the subtext of the twitter exchange was clearly to have a go at the integrity of board members. The ‘shock revelation’ about something members already knew about seems to confirm this was about mischief-making.

midfield is not exactly a priority. Quality player but worth flogging a younger midfielder to accommodate?

Was his main injury not back related???
I think so but, as my physio used to remind me, everything is connected to everything else. So back can give problems in hamstrings which can affect achilles etc etc. I'm testament to the fact as I've got a problem in my right shoulder, my lower back and my hip extensors all of which is related to an ancient ankle knackering. Still, cartilage is overrated.

I'm afraid to say we are going to need to cut our losses on this one soon. I'd love to see him back and I think there is a decent player in him, but he gets injured every 45 minutes he plays. It's a waste of a wage
Unless he opts out, we're stuck with him for the length of his contract so have little option but to persist with him.
For all we know, he's just rolled his ankle and it's nothing to do with his other issues but does seem that one of his parents was a wafer biscuit.

He'd done pretty well recently but we've got a glut of centre backs and presumably he was easiest to get off the books. You get the impression Murty would rather have moved Alves and Cardoso on but that probably wasn't possible.

Hope it looks ok and that it's a good deal for the club but I really struggle to care too much about who makes our kits. Probably all made in the same Chinese sweatshop anyway.
