The midfield 3 is the area we tend to struggle.

Goalkeeper, defence and attack...I don't see much difference other than subs bench.

Middle is where they have a distinct edge. Brown and Ntcham are good at retaining possession and setting things up..Rogic is a danger going forward. We have to hope our midfield lads play above themselves and Murty gives them a chance with the set-up.

Murty’s done what, I think, most of us wanted him to with the midfield. Just hope they step up. And Broonie shits himself, obviously

Having someone like Candeias on the bench wouldn't be such a bad thing in that even if he doesn't start, he can still play an important part in the game.

I think we have to prioritise giving protection to the centre-backs and being solid in midfield.

With that you look to keep a clean sheet and build a base from which to work from.

Exposing our flanks far too much with your suggested line up. The idea of leaving them a free run at our full backs scares the shit out of me.

Agree with Ian. Better keeping Candeias and Murphy, sticking Dorrans 'in the hole', McCrorie screening and Docherty trying to do a bit of defending and attacking as required? I'd rather play McCrorie in defence to be honest but central midfield needs some tackling. Guess Holt could come into midfield McCrorie drop back. But it's a fine state of affairs that we have two experienced international centre backs in the squad and I'd rather be playing two kids.

Tough one! what any off us think won't matter.

If you step back from the result against the scum we have improved big time, Murty seems to also be getting the best out of the players who were already here , he has also had a good January transfer window and has us playing the kind of football we all want to see he has also had a good January transfer window.

He is learning as well. I am glad we never got McInnes from the sheep,£1m + was what was spoken about to get him from the sheep.

I can't think of any manager I would want to take the Rangers job? but then I don't watch much football other than Rangers! I don't see many names flying about either.

Should he get the job full time? I personally think he is doing well, he has a good relationship with the players & DOF, will a new manager have the same? if we win the Scottish cup and finish the league in a comfortable 2nd place he might get it? if we don't win the cup I am not sure?.

This, mostly. We look like a team that's being coached properly and, for the most part, more than the sum of its parts. Whether he should get it depends slightly on the alternatives available but, in the absence of Dave King learning to keech diamonds, we're looking at steady progress rather than overhaul and he seems like he might well-suited to that.

  4. A bit of perspective from a neutral’s perspective from the Guardian minute-by-minute report:

“A game of pace, aggression, attitude and skill – along with plenty of affirming hatred – featuring four great goals, one very good goal, a red card, and a title more or less decided; Celtic are now nine points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand. However, make no mistake: Rangers are on the way back, nurturing a compelling youthfulness and swagger. If they can add some control, they’ll be a serious force next season,”

  5. You can have a debate about whether the hospitality expenditure is value for money but the subtext of the twitter exchange was clearly to have a go at the integrity of board members. The ‘shock revelation’ about something members already knew about seems to confirm this was about mischief-making.

Was his main injury not back related???

I think so but, as my physio used to remind me, everything is connected to everything else. So back can give problems in hamstrings which can affect achilles etc etc. I'm testament to the fact as I've got a problem in my right shoulder, my lower back and my hip extensors all of which is related to an ancient ankle knackering.  Still, cartilage is overrated.

I'm afraid to say we are going to need to cut our losses on this one soon. I'd love to see him back and I think there is a decent player in him, but he gets injured every 45 minutes he plays. It's a waste of a wage

Unless he opts out, we're stuck with him for the length of his contract so have little option but to persist with him.

For all we know, he's just rolled his ankle and it's nothing to do with his other issues but does seem that one of his parents was a wafer biscuit.
