  1. I still say a very significant number aren't renewing ST's due to the dire standard of football we endured towards the end of last season. Whether a couple of decent signings would persuade people remains to be seen along with whether this board see McCoist as the manager they want when we return to the top division

    The reasons are immaterial.

If there is a poor uptake of season tickets, the board(s) are the ones charged with either finding a solution which sees an increase in those numbers, or attracting alternative sources of revenue to cover for it.

    It's that simple.

  2. Where did you here that if you don't mind me asking?

Are you talking about Thursday just passed, so the 29th?

If true, then 13k is a hell of a lot less than 20k and it's very worrying indeed.

That figure was posted on FF....but then again, there have been many other totals posted on there. It was said to have come from 'a concerned TO staff member'.

  3. Just asked the question as i would imagine the uof do not want to play their hand in public just as the club do not . I suppose the uof could rise above that and declare full extent of support or be caught in the trap of keeping info secret for business reasons, as many businesses, inc rangers, do. However that is often called a " lack of transparency" .

If the UoF did release a number, what use would it be to anyone when there is no comparitive figure from a previous season?

I understand that you are only trying to muddy the waters, but you really should think things through prior to hitting the keyboard.

  4. What sort of threats are they to Keith? Any idea who it is? The second sounds like something Toxic would come away with but maybe not the first one.

Wouldn't be surprised if it is Traynor. The tweets seem to be about Toxic, not by him.

  5. They got quite a lot stick for this so I'd guess they're not going to report on the meeting?

    Was there ever a meeting?

Did the RFFF have their meeting later that week - the one a member of VB admin said would be happening?

    The silence is deafening.

  6. That is premiership only. I am looking at all games as all managers should be examined.

Firstly, it's not Premiership only, it goes right back to 1945.

As has been explained on that site, it is unfair to include domestic cup/European games. For example, how could a defeat by Real Madrid be comparable to a win over Rochdale?

If managers should be examined on ALL games, why do you only use the win % stats to make your point?

  7. Aston Villa - The worst manager in their history with an abysmal win ratio of 21.43%.

I think you will find that both Jo Venglos and Billy McNeill have poorer records in that particular category.

McLeish appears to be very adept at going into a struggling club and getting huge improvement from the existing squad of players, only to crash and burn after the initial success. Finishing third in a two-horse race was staggering.

  8. I thought sponsors would pay for it?

Not sure about that, mate. The Republic FC match is sponsored by Bonney Plumbing, Heating, Air and Rooter Service! :D

It was der Berliner appearing to make out that if there were severe financial problems at the club, they wouldn't be touring North America. I was merely looking for clarification as to what he meant by that as I may have misunderstood.

  9. What about the other 50odd thousand who sang it throughout the season?

@Rangeritis ... these songs are not "naughty", they are pro-terrorist bile. It is one thing singing cynical, even sectarian (though that word needs to be defined first) songs or banter at the opposition. It is another praising and hailing people responsible for the death of innocent people, British citizens at that. Especially if the latter version of songs is prohibited by law since 2006.

Under which 2006 law are songs banned?

Which songs are included in the banned list?

If this Roll Of Honour song is indeed banned, why were the BBC not prosecuted for playing a segment of it on the Radio 1 chart rundown?

  10. Just what the authorities need to make this sort of bile legal. Watch them get away with it and it to be in full flow all next season at every Celtic match.

They have had both convictions and aquittals for singing the same song. Rangers fans are also being done for similar. The morals of singing naughty songs can be argued about until the end of time, but it is the Act itself which should be put on trial.

  11. I have some extremely cynical theories about our pre-season and mid-season pre-match preparations and how they relate to top class golf resorts and golfing. For example, I see the squad are off to stay at Royal Dornoch Golf Club again this summer....

    That's the spirit! ;)
