  1. They've been lucky. You had Everton relegated last season but I said quite early that their xG showed they'd be safe from relegation. Don't dismiss the xG.
  2. My main criticism of Beale was the xG difference. Basically we were not creating enough chances - never mind taking them - to deserve to win games comfortably. Beale's average difference was 0.94 difference between our xG and the opponents xGA. That's not even a goal more than our opponents. That improved significantly under Clement last season (and that's with the end of season slump built-in). However, this season it's actually worse than Beale, at 0.86. Damning.
  3. The comparison will be there, but I think the data shows that Aberdeen have been relatively lucky. Celtic, Hearts and Dundee should have beaten them as they had much lower xG in those games. Then against Motherwell the xG was even. I think they've just been clinical. Over the rest of the season that will even out. We'll be comfortably second.
  4. Even I'm struggling...
  5. I had the season written off anyway, but I expected some progress before now.
  6. And he comes off his line for that...
  7. Brutal stuff.
  8. No he's not.
  9. Dessers has been atrocious. In every possible way.
  10. Don't be silly! He's filling in at CEO.
  11. Why is Butland so slow off his line!
  12. I've got the fear. Rangers are back!
  13. Kilmarnock 0 - 1 Rangers FGS Bajrami
  14. Our game was much more even. Aberdeen should have been battered today.
  15. Celtic hadn't scored yet.
  16. 104 minutes, eh? Gave them every chance.
  17. I'd love to see a back-three, but I'd prefer a situational back-three. Nana in for Tavernier at RB. Nana would stay back to make a back-three with Jefte pushing forward on the left. This lets us use a proper winger wide right while also letting us revert to a back-four in defence. The 4-4-2 is best for pressing, too, which is more tricky to switch to if we start with a proper back-three.
  18. My two Everton players returning, though. 'Mon the Toffees.
  19. Saka not in squad. I had an easy Saka to Palmer transfer, too, but decided against it. F*ck...
  20. I've given Goal Involvements (goals and assists) per 90 above, which is an accurate reflection of their output. That was all I was comparing, despite others putting words in my mouth. Stats are pretty accurate; they measure very specific metrics. I think the issues come when people can't reconcile the stats with what they think they see - or what they like - or they overlook the fact that subjective judgements are made on a whole series of different things, which is not what stats are measuring. As to your favourite player, that's a different argument. I love players like Ronaldinho and Zidane, but their stats are not great. It's just a fact. It doesn't mean they don't put a smile on my face watching them.
  21. Neither do I.
  22. I don't think anyone is suggesting it'll happen.
