UEFA bosses are believed to be bewildered by Celticâ??s lack of action after their fans attacked those Euro chiefs and shamed the club in Italy. Now those Euro bosses will decide just how hard they should come down on Celtic when they meet to determine Celticâ??s fate on February 24. And right now the feeling inside the UEFA corridors of power is that they should hammer Celtic. Sources, both inside the UEFA headquarters and with strong connections to the European governing body, claim they cannot understand why Celtic have not taken tough action against the thugs who have landed Celtic in the Euro dock for the second time this season.. They are especially perplexed at the Celtic inaction, after hearing Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell talk tough following the F*** UEFA banner hoisted by Celtic supporters during the game against Udinese in December, plus the letting off of flares, which led to the club being charged yet again by UEFA. For there are those within UEFA who know that there were angry scenes at the airport the morning after the game, witnessed by the Scottish press pack, when a clearly angry Lawwell and furious fans confronted each other in a heated exchange of views. It was then that Lawwell gave an interview to the Scottish journalists who saw what had happened. In it he claimed that he would hunt down the troublemakers and ensure that they were banned from Parkhead. That led to banner headlines saying the Lawwell was ready to hunt down the Celtic thugs. Yet since then only it has been reported that only one of the Celtic hooligans has been banned from the clubâ??s ground, despite the fact there were a gang of them involved in the trouble, which also saw violence erupt when a Celtic steward was given a battering by travelling supporters. There has also been a disturbing silence in the media about what â?? if any â?? follow up action Lawwell has taken, leading many to once again point to the iron grip Celtic chief executive and Scottish Football Association director, Peter Lawwell has on Scotlandâ??s media and, in particular BBC Scotland, who have shied away from this explosive story. This lack of real tough action by Celtic against the thugs has now led to at least one senior UEFA man telling others within the UEFA headquarters about Celticâ??s history regarding dealing with violence. It has been pointed out to UEFA bosses that nobody was banned after referee Hugh Dallas â?? a Celtic hate figure â?? was felled and left bleeding after being hit by a missile hurled from the Parkhead stands. The attack on a visiting captain, which left him needing stitching after another thug launched a weapon at him, has also been mentioned, plus another night of Celtic shame when a club doctor, attending to an stricken player, had his hand injured when yet another Celtic supporter fired a missile which hit him. None of the thugs who support Celtic and who were behind these shameful attacks, were ever indentified by Celtic and banned from Parkhead. One attack on a player UEFA does know about is when a Celtic supporter invaded the pitch during a Champions League match with AC Milan and attacked the visiting goalkeeper. Now these sins from the past could be set to start catching up with Celtic, particularly as the lack of a tough stance against the thugs who shamed Celtic and Scotland in Italy, has left some UEFA insiders perplexed at why chief executive Peter Lawwell has not taken the action he promised. UEFA bosses are well aware of how hard it is for any club to have complete control over all of their followers, particularly the wilder elements. But any suspicion any of the Eurocrats may harbour that Lawwell is not doing enough to weed out the Parkhead thugs could see Celtic hammered when UEFA bosses meet to decide the clubâ??s fate next month. http://leggoland2.blogspot.com/

Did Weiss not turn down the BHEASTS as well?
-
Is Sone Aluko proving to be better than Weiss?. I am a big fan of Weiss and would love to see him back at Ibrox, however Aluko is performing at a high level since he joind the Rangers. We all knew he was a good wee player but he really has taken his chance with Rangers and I would like to see him signed up on a longer contract.

Of course

I hate to say it Craig, but I told you

RANGERS were last night closing in on a deal to sign Pawel Brozek on loan. Boss Ally McCoist hopes to have the striker on board in the next 48 hours — just as we told you first. SunSport revealed last week that the Polish international had shot to the top of Gers' January wish list. McCoist confirmed advanced talks between Gers and Trabzonspor have taken place. With Nikica Jelavic out of today's clash with Hibs and West Ham preparing to table an improved offer for the Croat, McCoist's need for a frontman has never been greater and Brozek is the man he wants. McCoist said: "We have touched base with his club in terms of seeing if a deal can be put together, be it a loan deal or something else. "Obviously the lad wants to play because it's in his best interests with the Euros coming up so we're in dialogue and communication with the club. "He is a scorer, his scoring record ain't bad. That's the most important thing and what we could do with. "If you are in his boots you want to play and get yourself ready for the Euros. "I'd be hopeful of getting something done, be it the next 48 hours, or as soon as possible. It wouldn't matter to me so long as it was before the window. "I have been told it's a possibility we can get someone in, it hasn't been ruled out." McCoist insists the Brozek deal is NOT dependent on Jelavic leaving. Indeed, the Gers gaffer would love to pair them in attack. He said: "I haven't been told it is connected to the Jelavic deal, I'm hoping it is not because I quite fancy the two of them working together. "Time will tell if a deal can be done and Jelavic stays. "Circumstances will dictate that but I have not been told that Jelavic must go for anyone to come in." There are just four days left in this transfer window. The future of Jelavic is still uncertain. The Hammers had a £7million bid for the striker rejected in midweek. The Championship leaders are preparing to test Gers' resolve with an improved offer but with the clock ticking down, any sale now would leave McCoist with little room to manoeuvre in his bid to land top target Grant Holt. The Norwich striker has been made aware of Gers' interest and would jump at the chance to move to Ibrox. On the Jelavic saga, McCoist stressed: "I can only tell you there was an offer rejected from West Ham on Wednesday night. Nothing else has come since then. It's not ideal if it goes to the death, but I think we all had a wee feeling that might be the case. I don't have a crystal ball, but common sense would tell you the vast majority of business happens towards the end of the window. "It's certainly not an ideal situation, but it is something I can't affect, so I'm pretty much in limbo. "If he does go I would hope there are things I could move. I certainly have targets." McCoist, who also confirmed his interest in Rapid Vienna striker Hamdi Salihi, has been forced to rule Jelavic out of today's clash with Hibs. He revealed: "Jelavic has not trained for two days. It's sickness and diarrhoea. His wife had it and a couple of the boys as well. The doctor went to see him on Wednesday night and says he is not well." McCoist, meanwhile, has cleared out five trialists who were at Murray Park last week as Michael Uchebo, Luigi Bruins, Zlatan Muslimovic, Enar Jaager and Jorge Claros have all left without deals. Full-back Jaager and midfielder Claros could yet return. McCoist said: "It's a trialist-free zone at the moment. Jaager and Claros have left but both are still on the radar. With Steven Whittaker out longer term we need cover in the full-back area while Claros is a very good player and someone I'd consider. "At the moment we are just not in a position to offer either of them deals just now. "If one or two leave on loan perhaps that will free up some cash for us." Uchebo slammed his stay at Gers branding his treatment as shambolic. The VVV-Venlo striker's agent Tony Harris said: "Michael was invited over by Ally McCoist. When he got there, McCoist wasn't there. Michael didn't feel at home and he didn't feel comfortable. He informed Rangers he didn't want to return to training." McCoist hit back: "Three of my coaches conducted a thorough training session and I value their opinions as being second to none." CASH-RICH Russians CSKA Moscow could be set to test Rangers’ resolve – by tabling a bumper £8million bid for striker Nikica Jelavic. Ibrox owner Craig Whyte is trying to hold out for at least £9m for Scotland’s top scorer. But CSKA’s offer – just £1m below their asking price – could seriously tempt them to part company with the Croatian hitman. CSKA have money to spend after selling Brazilian ace Vagner Love to Flamengo in his homeland for £9m. However, the Moscow club have until February 24 before their transfer window closes, so they may be in no hurry to sign Jelavic. It looks as if West Ham have ended their interest in signing the 26-year-old after their offer, £5m million plus add-ons taking the deal to £7m, was rejected by Rangers. The Hammers now look certain to turn their attention to one-time Celtic target Jordan Rhodes and make a £4m offer to Huddersfield for the young Scot. Rangers boss Ally McCoist, though, is braced for the loss of Jelavic before Tuesday’s transfer deadline. He has plans in place to bring in two strikers if he goes. Nigerian striker Michael Uchebo, however, will not be one of them. He was on trial at Murray Park yesterday, but was told after just one training session that the Glasgow club would not be signing him. The 6ft 6in 21-year-old is hoping to win a move to a bigger club after agreeing to move on from Dutch club VVV Venlo. Venlo’s claims that they have agreed a £1m fee with Rangers, and a transfer is set to be done once the player has completed a medical, are well wide of the mark. McCoist is believed to be interested in Uchebo’s countryman Kalu Uche. The 29-year-old, 34-times capped international is a free agent after parting company with Neuchatel Xamax. Albanian Hamdi Salihi, who is available for around £400,000 after falling out with Rapid Vienna coach Peter Schottel, is another player on the Rangers boss’s radar. He has been talking to former Rapid team-mate Jelavic about possibly replacing him, and said: "I’ve spoken to Nik on the phone. He told me Rangers are a great club so I am very keen on a move to Glasgow. It would be a huge opportunity for me." Rangers are also in talks with Turkish club Trabzonspor in an attempt to arrange a loan deal for Polish striker Pawel Brozek. Meanwhile, free agent Luigi Bruins and Jorge Claros are still on trial and are hopeful of winning contracts – but the latter’s Honduran club, Motagua, say they want £800,000 for their player, although he could come on loan first with a view to a permanent deal in the summer. Polish club Lech Poznan are interested in taking Spanish midfielder Juanma Ortiz. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/russian-giants-line-up-nikica-jelavic-deal-1.1145447

RANGERS midfielder Matt McKay is going nowhere in the current transfer window, according to the playerâ??s agent. The Aussie international had been mulling over offers from South Korea and Saudia Arabia, but he is determined to stay at Ibrox and fight for his place. McKay has made just three appearances since he arrived at the club in the summer from Brisbane Roar but his agent John Viola has said the player will not be forced into a move now. And his agent has also maintained the fear of losing his international place will not force him out the Ibrox exit door. "Matt is an established international player," said Viola. "If he doesnâ??t play for six months there is still no danger he will fall out of favour with the national squad. "It is fair to say there has been interest in him in the window from elsewhere, but he is really determined to force his way into Ally McCoistâ??s side." http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/matt-mckay-staying-says-agent-1.1145460

RUSSIAN giants CSKA Moscow are ready to test Rangers £9m price tag on Nikica Jelavic by offering £1m less for the striker. Currently at a winter training camp in Spain in preparation for their Champions League clash with Real Madrid the clubs' director general Roman Babaev has confirmed their interest in the Croation hit-man. And with £9.3m in their pocket from the sale of Brazilian attacker Vagner Love earlier this week the CSKA boss revealed their scouts had watched Jelavic twice in recent matches and could compete with West Ham for his signature. Russian radio stations last night claimed the club was in fact set to bid eight million euros plus add-ons after talks with Jelavic's agent but Babaev would only say: "We want to improve our front line and if this footballer can do it then a deal is possible " Coach Leonid Slutsky added: "It is up to my directors but I know of Jelavic and he is a big player." ì It is up to my directors but I know of Jelavic and he is a big player î Coach Leonid Slutsky The news could also bring the Hammers back to the table with another increased offer before Tuesday's deadline but no further approaches have been made since their £7m bid was rejected by owner Craig Whyte as being to low. Rangers meanwhile are unlikely to pursue their interest in latest trialist, Nigerian Michael Uchebo . The 6ft 6in striker currently with Dutch minnows Eredivisie trained at Murray Park yesterday after failing to win a deal with Stoke City earlier this month. The 21 year old was monitored by manager Ally McCoist but issues surrounding his lack of experinece and a work permit as he is yet to play for the Super Eagles are expected to negate any further developments. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/298235/Russians-are-ready-to-swoop-for-Jelavic Hamdi Salihi | Bundesliga Goals 2009 - 2010
