STEVEN NAISMITH was last night warned the Tartan Army will turn against him and call for the end of his Scotland career if he represents Team GB at next summer's Olympics. The Rangers star, 25, has sparked a furious backlash from fans after revealing his desire to play for Stuart Pearce's UK select side. Injured hitman Naisy joined QPR striker Jamie Mackie in publicly declaring his hopes of being selected as one of three over-age players. But he has been warned he is putting his international future and the Scottish national team's on the line with his comments. Hamish Husband, spokesman for the Association of Tartan Army Supporters Clubs, said: "What you have is a misguided player putting personal vanity ahead of the future of his national team. "We've campaigned against a GB Team and Naismith would be unwelcome to play for Scotland again in the eyes of most. He's endangering his future with the national team and the national team itself. "Mackie said the same but he's almost an irrelevance while Naismith has - or should I say had - a bright future with Scotland. "Naismith is seen as the bright future of the team under Craig Levein but not if he pulls on that GB shirt." http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/2011/12/09/rangers-star-steven-naismith-told-to-snub-team-gb-revealing-olympics-desire-86908-23621823/

CELTIC have demanded Rangers pay for tickets up front before allowing the Ibrox club's fans into Parkhead for the crunch Christmas derby. Record Sport can reveal the Parkhead outfit have broken with long-standing tradition by refusing to allow their bitter rivals to sell tickets to their own support on a sale or return basis for the top-of-the-table showdown on December 28. The move comes amid growing speculation about the state of the Ibrox club's financial health and because Celtic feared they might end up being left out of pocket for anything up to £350,000. But despite a string of ongoing problems behind the scenes Rangers' new owner Craig Whyte has rustled up the cash to avoid having an 8000-strong travelling support locked out of the biggest fixture of the festive season. Neither club wanted to comment on the development last night but Record Sport also now understands Rangers will make a similar demand for cash up front before Celtic visit Ibrox for the second time this season on March 24 next year. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/2011/12/09/celtic-make-rangers-pay-up-front-for-tickets-to-spl-old-firm-clash-86908-23621820/

FURIOUS Players' Union chief Fraser Wishart last night demanded the SFA and SPL break cover and take hard-hitting action against Hearts for their failure to pay top-team stars' wages. And PFA Scotland supreme Wishart has warned the Hampden powers-that-be and Hearts owner Vladimir Romaonov that failure to resolve this issue will lead to open revolt. Failure to stump up monies due could result in the Gorgie club being sued, players ripping up their deals and walking away in January for nothing and UEFA being informed that Hearts are not fit to hold a club license and subsequently be banned from Europe. The players have not been paid November's wages and have little hope of getting December's money in their banks before Christmas. Now Wishart has finally come out and pleaded for the governing body to use the powers they hold to ride to the rescue of the players. Wishart has warned Hampden chiefs that they have a duty of care for the players and dithering will no longer be tolerated. And he's also told Hearts it would be "immoral" for them to try and sell players in January who they have been unable to pay for two months. ì The expectation is that our members simply continue to turn up for training and games as normal without any sign of being paid î Fraser Wishart Wishart blasted: "The expectation is that our members simply continue to turn up for training and games as normal without any sign of being paid. "It is to their credit that they have done so in recent months and, rather than being weak, this takes strength and shows a care for the future of the club. "There is however a growing anger, frustration and a feeling of isolation amongst the players. Our members ask for the governing bodies to intervene and help resolve this matter. "The governing bodies have an obligation to the integrity of the game in this country and it is imperative that from this aspect our members are paid. They are subject to huge pressure financial from their families. "Add to that pressure from the fans who simply want their club to survive and pressures from the club to maintain standards and fulfill fixtures. The players have been exemplary in their professionalism. The current situation however is unacceptable and cannot continue. "Players sign standard contracts which are registered with the governing bodies. As part of this contract players also have to adhere to the registration processes put in place by the governing bodies. The governing bodies also adjudicate upon any disputes and are responsible. There is therefore a care of duty to ensure that these very contracts are being honoured." Wishart says that the SPL and SFA have the power to step in and act with both organistaions having rules that deal with this kind of issue. To date the SFA and SPL have kept a wtching brief, but Wishart is fed-up and says Hearts players are now close to revolt. He added: "We have members who require specialist medical treatment or operations. Those who do play face the risk of being injured and affecting their career. We would question whether morally it is right to continue to ask a player to risk injury with no prospect of being paid. “Our members wish is quite simple; they want to be paid their wages. There is no wish to take legal action against the club and we agree that it is in everyone’s interest that Hearts get to January and raise revenue by selling players. "It cannot be right though that a club can demand a transfer fee for a player who it cannot pay as there are no signs that the club can guarantee to fulfill the terms of the contract. The longer our members go without pay the more likely that many will look to use the terms of their contract and the FIFA Regulations. "The club is in clear breach of our members‚ contracts and players are now looking at their contractual position.” http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/...s-over-pay-row Edit/Delete Message

CASH-STRAPPED Hearts have begged their players to go without wages for another FOUR months. SunSport can reveal the stunned squad were asked this week if they'd be willing to wait until MARCH to receive their outstanding salaries. In return owner Vladimir Romanov would pay them an extra percentage on top of all the salary payments they would be due then. The request was thrown out by fuming Jambos stars, who have now been left out of pocket since November 4. But worried players fear they will have to wait until then anyway, with no sign of wages from Romanov forthcoming any time soon. Morale at Riccarton is at an all-time low as the players look for outside help in a bid to address the situation. Now players' union PFA Scotland has stepped in to ask for assistance from the SFA and SPL as the Tynecastle crisis deepens. The squad had hoped to meet SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster to express their worries in person. But the league insist they cannot intervene in the matter unless players sign a collective complaint asking them to do so. An official said: "Under the standard SPL player's contract, the SPL has the power to adjudicate on any complaint made by a player or players. "To date, no complaint has been received by the SPL in relation to any Hearts player." But PFA Scotland chief executive Fraser Wishart says the authorities must get involved and support the unpaid players. He said: "The expectation is that our members simply continue to turn up for training and games as normal without any sign of being paid. "It is to their credit that they have done so in recent months. Rather than being weak, this takes strength and shows care for the club's future. "There is, however, a growing anger, frustration and a feeling of isolation amongst the players. "Our members ask for the governing bodies to intervene and help resolve this matter. "They have an obligation to the integrity of the game and it is imperative that from this aspect our members are paid. "There is no wish to take legal action against the club and we agree that it is in everyone's interest that Hearts get to January and raise revenue by selling players. "But it cannot be right that a club can demand a transfer fee for a player who it cannot pay. The club is in clear breach of our members' contracts." JOHN WARK wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry if Liverpool bought Nikica Jelavic in January. Scotland legend Wark is convinced close pal Kenny Dalglish would kill off his beloved Rangers' hopes of four-in-a-row by grabbing the prolific Croat. But ex-Anfield idol Wark is also certain Jelavic would take the Reds to the next level in the Premier League. SunSport revealed yesterday Liverpool manager Dalglish has resurrected his interest in Jelavic after a failed summer transfer window move. Wark said: "It would be a massive blow for Rangers if they lost Jelavic. Bad enough to lose them the league — and I would be very disappointed about that. "But he'd also be a brilliant signing for Liverpool. I've no doubts Jelavic would be good enough for my old club. "Liverpool need another proven goalscorer to give Luis Suarez some support because Andy Carroll is finding things difficult. "And I'm sure a Suarez-Jelavic partnership would be fantastic. "Jelavic would become an even better player surrounded by the guys at Liverpool. "Dalglish wants to get them back as title challengers and that will take a bit of time. "Jelavic is the type of player who can help restore the status Liverpool once had. "But I've always been a Rangers supporter, so it's a very difficult one for me! "Liverpool's a great club and it was special for me to play for them. "I still turn out for the club's legends team and I'll be back at Anfield on the 18th for the former players' Christmas party. "I'll hopefully see Kenny then and I'll be telling him to keep his hands off Jelavic. "I'd be happier if he found another striker." Wark has seen enough Jelavic goals on TV to feel sure he would become the new darling of the Kop. He added: "Jelavic scores all kinds of goals and he looks a very good player. "He's got great movement, plenty of skill and is a strong finisher. "He's an intelligent striker and he would get plenty of chances at Liverpool. "To have someone like Kenny watching you is about as good a compliment as you can get. He's made some excellent signings. He knows a player. "Carroll cost £35million and there's a lot of pressure on him. "But he's at Liverpool on a five-year deal and I'm sure he'll eventually settle and do well. "Carroll could be a good player for them, but the problem is he has only scored three goals this season. "Dalglish needs to get someone in up front and I can understand him being interested in Jelavic. "But I wouldn't like him to leave Rangers. Without Jelavic they would only have Kyle Lafferty available. "It would be hard for Jelavic to turn down Liverpool. "I'm also worried about the money situation at Rangers. It would be very difficult for them to knock back big money for Jelavic or any of their top men." Lifted from FF: It can't be easy running a popular sport in a country where reasonable opinions and calm discussion aren't popular or common. But I think today may be a big day: it's surely the day that the fans and the Club alike have to consider that Stewart M. Regan is unfit for purpose. There's a lot of emotive things to discuss - and indeed dismiss - but the reason for this lack of faith - were it ever fully present - should not be too difficult to follow, follow. Stewart, Itâ??s not the blocking on Twitter of almost every Rangers fan who has, politely or otherwise, had the gall to ask difficult questions of you. Itâ??s not the way you facilitated the invitation of Peter Lawwell onto an SFA board as a reward for the way in which his Club guaranteed that your officials had to go on strike and accused you through their resident QC McBride of institutional bias. Itâ??s not the muddled and bizarre comments and statements attributed to you which suggest that you donâ??t understand the game and donâ??t even know why people are shaking their heads. And itâ??s not even the fact that your new â??transparentâ?? SFA regime seems to run in accordance with a definition and understanding of the term that is denied the rest of us mere mortals. No, Stewart, itâ??s because youâ??re incompetent and now guilty of admitting you cannot offer clubs fair treatment. In response to a comment regarding todayâ??s Aluko ban and the similarities it may or may not have had with previous â?? weâ??ll call them Oâ??Connoresque â?? incidents, the SFA Chief Executive had this to say: "Separate panels sit for every case and consider the evidence. You cannot compare one case directly against another." Defending the implementation of a two-match ban for simulation judged after the event he explains why this severe punishment is necessary: "If a referee makes a decision that has an impact on a game, because of simulation, then that is why it is not just a yellow card." He further clarified the reasoning behind the two-game suspension in the Aluko case thus: â??It changed the game.â? Where do you start with this? Does the punishment not apply if the alleged incident occurs when the scoreline is seven-nil? If Jelavic had fallen on his Croatian coccyx and ballooned it over the bar it wouldnâ??t have mattered? Given that â?? in this case â?? Alukoâ??s team were already one goal up what exactly does it mean to say â??it changed the game.â? It didnâ??t change the result and we certainly cannot presume that the final score would have been one-one had the penalty not been awarded and converted. Every decision taken changes the game. In this context it is a nonsensical, worthless phrase. When fans see one player dive and go unpunished by a sitting panel and another panel agree in another case with the ref that there is contact yet upholds the decision to ban the player what conclusion, exactly, are we supposed to draw? There is nothing more certain in Scottish football this season than a future SFA panel clearing a player of simulation. All we need for this whole situation to get worse is for that player to be an unfortunate member of a Celtic team presently doing rather well in the discipline stakes. The single biggest problem facing the SFA is the clear evidence that points towards the media â?? BBC production/editorial teams for Sportsound and Sportscene in particular â?? being the ones responsible for deciding what is and what is not worthy of being considered and acted upon by Vincent Lunny. That is something missing from todayâ??s otherwise excellent response from an incandescent Rangers manager. Those questions â?? how an unaccountable person or persons can have so much influence on a procedure supposedly made less open to legal action â?? have to be answered and the Club has to do what the fans cannot accomplish. And all the while SFA CEO Regan blocks fans asking questions and SFA communications chief Darryl Broadfoot gets into arguments with people about how much weight they can bench? It would be funny were it not so sad.

If you are refering to me?,I'm not looking for an argument,I was simply replying to your comment on Mckay in a Mckay thread, and it is a serious question:smile:

He might be in trouble for that comment?

Dunno, but they did agree there was contact: '' "The thing that stuns me is that the panel agreed there was contact so for them to uphold the decision and go against their own referee, who had a particularly good game, is ridiculous.''

LIVERPOOL are back on the trail of Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic. Kop boss Kenny Dalglish failed in a dramatic late bid for the Ibrox hitman at the end of the summer transfer window. But now he is ready to swoop once again — and hopes a £7.5million bid will seal a deal for the Croat striker. Dalglish and Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli are scouring Europe for a proven goalscorer, and Anfield sources have confirmed prolific hitman Jelavic is high on their list of January targets. But Dalglish will face competition from fellow Premier League side West Brom and ambitious Championship club Leicester. Dalglish is desperate to secure a top- four finish and a Champions League place — but his side are currently seventh suffering from an acute lack of goals. Record £35m buy Andy Carroll has scored just three times this season — and one of them was against Exeter in the Carling Cup. Luis Suarez has netted seven. Jelavic is already on 12 after scoring an impressive 19 in his injury-hit first term following a £4m move from Rapid Vienna. With Leicester and West Brom also circling and Steven Naismith out for the season, Light Blues boss Ally McCoist is desperately hoping that club owner Craig Whyte will fend off all offers for his star striker Read more: http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/3985312/Nik-back-on-Kennys-Kop-wishlist.html#ixzz1fxdevTuX

It is now up to Rangers FC to call for an investigation into every decision that goes against them -
He is a limited footballer and gets a hard time from Rangers fans especialy,I think he is a good steady full back and has proved he is a good full back with performances against the likes of Manure, easy target for some fans.

How do you know?,have you seen a lot of him?. I don't know if he's a good player or not as I haven't seen enough of him. He did however win Oz player of the year so he must have something right?.

PETER LAWWELLâ??S best pal in football, Scottish Football Association chief executive Stewart Regan, has been strangely quiet on whether there should be an investigation into whether Lawwellâ??s boss, Dermot Desmond is a fit and proper person to be a Celtic director. Regan, you may recall, was quick off the mark to announce that he had ordered an SFA probe into Rangers owner and chairman, Craig Whyte after being bombarded by an avalanche of questions from Philmacgiollabhain, relating to events Whyte was involved on the edge of more than a decade ago. But there has been no such reaction from Regan over Dermot Desmondâ??s financial involvement in a story which has been given UK wide publicity and which has caused revulsion among all right thinking people. It is scandal surrounding a company called Castlebeck Care and in particular a home owned by the company called Winterbourne View. The full story regarding what went on, and the cruel mistreatment of so many vulnerable members of society, is detailed by the BBC and Guardian reports. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-15924774 http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2011/aug/17/castlebeck-care-homes-close-unit There are further investigations taking place and it is believed the full horror will reveal other atrocious acts of cruelty perpetrated in anything up to 20 homes owned by Castlebeck Care. So who owns the Castlebeck Care Company? Well there are a number of investors. And one of them is said to be the secretive and sometimes even reclusive Dermot Desmond, the man whose majority shareholding makes him effectively the owner of Celtic plc, on whose board he sits. Now, not for a moment am I even hinting that Irish billionaire Dermot Desmond had any idea of the cruelties being carried out in these care homes. But it may be argued in court at a later date that if he was willing to trouser a profit from Castlebeck Care to add to his billions, then he had a legal duty to be aware of what was going on in the care homes. That may prove be a difficult legal point and when mâ??learned friends are involved who knows what a tangled web will be weaved. However, I leave it to others to decide whether Dermot Desmond had a moral duty to know what was happening in the homes the company he invested in ran. But maybe Dermot Desmondâ??s employee, Peter Lawwellâ??s best pal, Scottish Football Association chief executive Stewart Regan, is not interested in the moral mores of the matter. Not that the fact his close relationship with Celtic chief executive Lawwell, whose wages are paid by the scandal hit Castlebeck Care company investor and Celtic director Dermot Desmond, will have had any influence on Reganâ??s thinking. And, to recap, Stewart Reganâ??s thinking is, that the SFA must probe Craig Whyte for something which happened a decade ago, but ignore a far more serious and sickening scandal that Dermot Desmond is at the heart of in the here and now. That is the way the Scottish Football Association works since Stewart Regan arrived, sacked Hugh Dallas and then invited Peter Lawwell to take a seat at the boardroom table of Scottish footballâ??s governing body. http://leggoland2.blogspot.com/
