    A bit off topic.

Are Rangers shares publicly traded? Exchange?

I would love to throw a couple bucks into the team.

I wish they still issued stock certificates...that would be worth the purchase price alone.

Get Super Ally's sig on one.

    Frame that up...sheeeeeit son!

McCoists signature is worth as much as Dave Kings word.

this semi coming up is one of the most important games in a few years, we MUST win it, but I've no confidence in this shower.

Why is the semi one of the most important game of the last few years?

Because its stops another treble for them? That's not that important in respect to us tbh. They've won so much recently another won't change things at Ibrox. Did last years SCSF save our season? Not in my estimation.

There have been far far more important matches this season alone than the upcoming SF. The LCF, NY Derby, our 4 CL qualifiers to name just a few.

In the environment of this zero error margin 2 horse race league, it could be argued that almost every SPFL fixture is more important than a cup semi final

My only concern was Celtic weren’t very good today yet wrapped up the points

Seperate Entity,  weren't playing their best in the LCF either, furthermore they didn't really perform as they can in the new year Derby.

This was also the case in their CL fixtures.

    See a pattern there Compo?

Admitted,  they are currently a better side than us, but every time they don't win by a barrow load, there's a media consensus that they've underperformed. There's seldom any consideration towards the team that has stopped them doing so.

That's the article from RR, apologies if it's behind a paywall. I'd rather pay for that than the tripe in the msm.

I'd rather sit in the butchers window and eat my own shite with a spoon, than pay money to the the Herald/Daily Record group (MSN) thats owns and operates the Rangers Review

I take it that the numbers in the OP are pounds sterling.

If so, a heavy cash requirement given the upturn in financial results.

Makes you wonder where we would be if we hadn't signed Bassey and reached a European final.

More pertinent, is where we will be if we have a couple of poor years.

I took it that the numbers were shares not gbp.

    Dunno though

My understanding is his only game under Struth was a benefit match for Bert Manderson. My very amateur checking suggested that match was in August and Struth took over in May. However, I could easily be wrong, I'm no expert.

I've checked too and would say you're spot on.

    30th Aug 1920, 2-1 win v bheasts.

    Gordon listed as no 8.

No other appearance recorded that season.

    Well done.

     - Jimmy Gordon joined Rangers in 1907, played 315 times (won 10 Scotland caps) and left the club in 1920, the year Bill Struth became manager. Struth took over in May of 1920. I don't know what month Gordon left though.

Gordon's testimonial match v an International ix was end of season 19/20 wilton was gaffer.

I don't know if he played under struth in 20/21 though,  but in that era many players did play on after benefit games.

Need more than that lad that’s just a bunch of tits standing in the rain catching a cold

Rain doesn't give you the cold matey, same way as sitting on your arse in an armchair doesn't help change anything.

I stand corrected, I didn't realise McCulloch was already in the Hall Of Fame. I couldn't find a definitive list of who was in it. My internet skills are clearly as poor as my memory these days!

I couldn't find the list on the official club site, some articles but no actual HoF list, was easy to find in the past but not now, probably on wiki but often incorrect on that platform.

There's the marble staircase board of course but that probably needs updating.

Not much of an accolade if the public can't find the inductees

I suppose it all depends on where we want the bar to be set. How special do we want a HoF to be?

I've no idea how they actually decide who's in the HoF. Is it reserved only for the best of the best or is it something awarded to everyone who made a decent contribution. Personally I'd prefer the former but since some are already there who wouldn't meet my criteria, the game's already a bogey as far as I'm concerned.

    Apparently these are the criteria

    1. Service to the club
    2. Number of games
    3. Honours won with Rangers
    4. International caps won while at Rangers
    5. Exceptional abilities

No problem, I was sure you weren’t just being thin skinned.

Not so much thin skinned, tbh, more just feeling a bit contrarian  today.

And if I were to take a wee introspective dive,  I'd probably admit that my commercial scepticism comes from recent events around the allocation of LCF tickets to C72 and the mealy mouthed, blatantly lying and embarrassing response from Bisgrove regarding this debacle.

Threads been hijacked enough, though. Am oot.

If I’d meant you I’d have had no difficulty saying so. Only you’ll know if the cap fits.

Criticism of this clothing range has been widespread - Twitter is loaded with it - for no good reason I can see.

So you didn't mean me, you were addressing some randoms on twitter who wouldn't see your post.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

  17. 31 minutes ago, Bill said:

Damned if I can see the problem with the decision to release the AD/DC clothing range.

No one is forced to buy it but there will be those who are happy to do so, which will only benefit the club.

As a support we seem extraordinarily keen to sneer at anything we personally don't like. Maybe we should just go back to the days of cheap tat and fat bastard T-shirts ... at least that had the merit of being equally shit for everyone.

I assume you refer to me as the sneerer, please note I already said I was being flippant in regards to the AC DC range.

I wasn't being so light hearted in regards to the Liverpool picture and the Doormats though, both stupid ideas that demonstrate that someone making commercial decisions has no grasp of the pride we have in our club.

Furthermore,  I've fvcking spent enough over the years, supporting my club to know what is shit and what isn't.
