  1. they have doubled hearts allocation.

I think that's because Hearts have sold their initial allocation request and have agreed with us to pay up front for the rest . It seems there's been negotiation with Hearts for a few days about this

  2. Don't really understand the people saying it's a decent result. Anything other than a win v Partick should be a huge embarrassment.

not when some are claiming we'll struggle against some championship sides.

Thistle are in the top division.....we beat them !

  3. I've been away and was wondering whether HMRC are appealing (again !)

    any word on this.

Also an interesting article in today's Daily Mail.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2709279/Russia-faces-having-assets-seized-world-international-court-rules-pay-50billion-shareholders-energy-company-Putins-government-destroyed.html

Russia may be stripped of assets around the world after an international court ruled it must pay $50billion in compensation for the government's role in destroying the country's largest oil company.

Yesterday's verdict by the Permanent Court for Arbitration increases the economic and diplomatic isolation of Russia at a time when it faces new, potentially painful sanctions from Western powers.

The court, a body that rules on corporate disputes, said the Russian government owes the money to the former majority shareholders in Yukos Oil Co, which it said was forced into bankruptcy with outsized tax claims by Putin's government.

could we use a route like this ?

  4. Other than HMRC(who are owed the PAYE and NI Whyte didn't pay plus the small tax case which Whyte was supposed to pay but didn't) who are these creditors?

There are no football debts as these were paid by newco as a condition of the licence being transferred.

Ticketus aren't a creditor as Lord Glennie only granted them personal contractual rights hence their pursuit of Whyte thro' the courts down south.

Don't forget too the RFFF paid off a number of small debts too.

As a rough guess I'd say HMRC are owed circa £16m. Are D&P and BDO getting the rest of this £24m?

I think Ticketus ARE creditors....not preferrential creditors but creditors nonetheless....I think that was the court ruling

ps sorry....just read the subsequent replies to your post

  5. Lifted from FF:

BBC2 Tonight - Did HMRC tax case sink Rangers Oldco

As the title says. The Pacific Quay CSC are doing a piece tonight asking that question

Any guesses on the outcome of this BBC CSC debate

    Its on at 10.30pm

you'd hope it would be Richard Wilson but don't be surprised if the odious dickhead is wheeled on to spout shite

  6. Yet another major embarrassment for HMRC.

You really have to wonder how much money they've wasted on their case against Rangers and whether those who instigated it think it's been worth it.

not only the costs of these tribunal cases but they knocked back an offer of £10 million from Murray

  7. Whyte said he bought Rangers knowing that administration was a certainty or words to that effect. I reckon he felt the BTC was a loser so he was hellbent on making it happen.

Murray is not stupid he must've known what Whyte was he just wanted shot of us, whether that was at the behest of the bank, who knows but he coulda said no, what difference would it have made to him?

As far HMRC is concerned whether you believe the conspiracies or not they clearly thought they had a case against us and if I remember correctly won the first part of this, we won the appeal. They were only doing what we pay them for. The leaks are a seperate issue

no that's not what happened at all

HMRC did NOT win the first part of anything. There was no tribunal before our appeal. HMRC unilaterally decided we owed them £40 million for the EBT's and because we hadn't paid it decided to fine us another £40 million. The first time it went to judgement (First tier Tax Tribunal) it was found in our favour. The present Upper tier tax tribunal is deciding on an HMRC appeal against that verdict.
