"You were Cheshire-born and Somerset raised. How on earth did you end up supporting Chelsea?"

"As a lad I followed Chelsea & Glasgow Rangers and I still have a great fondness for both sides"

Interviewed in this month's FourFourTwo magazine. Gaun yersel Beefy.

I'm surprised we haven't heard before now that he's a Rangers fan unless he hasn't been to Ibrox for a good while.

He's a big fly fisherman as well & comes up to Scotland a lot for trout & salmon fishing. He started his own fishing program on Discovery Realtime a while back, but I don't know if it's still running or not as I don't watch TV. I did see what I think was the first in the series & he was trout fishing with his friend Eric Clapton. :)

Aye Beefy loves Scotland, perhaps a product of his John O'Groats walks I don't know. I'm not sure where he fishes but he's often to be seen in pubs down Callander way apparently.

I remember two or three World Cups ago (cricket) he was asked for his views on the Scotland team: "Love the people, love the whisky, love the fishing........but no" :D

I thought you were talking about John Barnes. I was getting myself mixed up with this thread and the John Barnes one. :fish:

He must be good friends with Coisty from their Question of Sport days you'd think.

They weren't team captains at the same time though McCoist was on it as a guest quite a bit during the Beefy/Beaumont era. I'd imagine Super and Beefy would get on pretty well.
