Maybe because he's rarely been played as a settled front man. Most often been played on the left of a 3 prong attack, or as a bloody winger.

 

Unlike Norn Iron, where he plays as a striker he's got about 7 or 8 goals in 20 appearances including subs. Not bad for a weak team which didn't qualify for the WC.
