I just don't understand why this statement wasn't made at the very beginning. Why did it have to come to protests to come out with this information that would have saved a lot of suspicion?

This type of statement would always wait until the interim results were announced.

 

The protests certainly helped shape the questions that were asked though so in that respect the organisers have been successful. It is now up to them to move their own focus and reshape their own strategy if they want to move forward effectively.

 

Unfortunately, I'm unsure if that will be possible.
