If they go down next season they'll regret sacking him. He always did a great job keeping them up and they were always one of the favourites to go down.

He is a complete twit, though. I imagine the board got fed up with his constant whining. And let's not forget, he couldn't beat a 9-man Bears team in the CIS Final. Add to that, St Mirren are one of the least attractive sides in the history of football. I'm glad to see him go.

I dont find this strange at all. Fair play to the St Mirren board for trying to better themselves.

 

He had 10th, 11th, 10th, 11th place finishes in the last 4 years. Considering the standard of the lower half of the SPL (there isnt much between them) and Hamiliton, St johnstone were well above them then there is no reason for the St Mirren board not to think they could be higher in the league.
