Not really what he said...

Rangers defender Kirk Broadfoot makes Celtic favourites to win this season's league title.

Rangers defender Kirk Broadfoot believes Celtic are favourites to win this season's league title.

The Old Firm rivals have 100% records after five games, with Rangers ahead on goals scored.

But Broadfoot considers Celtic to have two principal advantages over his own club in the title race.

"The players they've brought in and the fact they play week-to-week while we've got hard games away in the Champions League," he said by way of explanation.

Rangers beat Dundee United 4-0 at home following their first Champions League match of the season; a 0-0 draw away at Manchester United.

But their subsequent five European games are followed by away matches against Hearts, Celtic, St Mirren, Dundee United and Inverness Caley Thistle.

"It's hard to sometimes lift your game when you come back off a Champions League game, it's a wee bit flat," said Broadfoot.

"We just need to raise our game."

Can someone kindly quote me where Kirk even remotely implied timmy's favourite? He said they have an advantage through not being in Europe, but where's his concession that they are ahead in the title race?

Kirk could have been playing mind games, assuming someone wrote the script for him. If he said it of his own accord he probably meant it. :)

.

Walter's done that at several points in the past couple of seasons & some fans have thought it was wrong to say such things. Personally I couldn't give a shit what gets said in press/media interviews as long as we win the SPL title.

If it helps our team's mentality to consider us the underdogs due to having an exhausting fixture list, but we keep winning, then I'm all for it. At no point has it been said that Celtic are a better team.
