fraser54 0 Posted November 16, 2010 Share Posted November 16, 2010 I have just realised today the amount of injuried or knocks we have Webster, Edu, Beattie & Jelavic have injuries Weiss, Bougherra, Lafferty, Papac & Broadfoot all have knocks that are making them struggle in games or sit them out. Frankie 8,150 Posted November 16, 2010 Share Posted November 16, 2010 Aye, knocks were always going to cause problems - particularly when the manager doesn't seem very keen to rest players when given the opportunity. We really need Webster and Beattie to contribute more while the quicker Jelavic returns the better as we look a bit stale in attack at times. I'm hoping Foster and Kerkar will help out as well. Out of all the names you've listed, I'd like to think only the Croatian will be out for longer than the next month. (apart from the very end with the gaping goal he fluffed!) With them both pulling out of the Scotland squad we might not see them in the line up at Rugby Park. Madjid Bougherra says he is battling to be fit to play for Rangers this weekend after a hamstring strain ruled him out of Algeria's friendly. The defender was due to represent his country in a friendly against Luxembourg on Wednesday but his injury will almost certainly see him miss the game. Walter Smith, the Rangers manager, will be praying that the strain is not too serious as his squad has already been heavy depleted by injuries. The Scottish Premier League leaders travel to Kilmarnock on Saturday, and their defensive rock admits he is facing a race against time to be fit. "I'm not sure if I will play. Fleck looked good at the weekend and Hutton looks promising too. I also believe Wylde has a big future at Rangers. We went into December last year crippled with injuries and it forced Walter's hand. You could argue December was the month we won the league given the football we played and the results it produced. Kirk Broadfoot, Sasa Papac and Kyle Lafferty are all struggling to be ready to face Kilmarnock in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off. And that raises concerns for next week's massive Champions League showdown against Manchester United on November 24. Maurice Edu is already ruled out of the Man United clash due to the knee injury he suffered against Hibs last week. He is due to have an x-ray on Monday which will reveal the length of time he will spend on the sidelines. Lafferty suffered a blow to his foot in training last Friday and he will have a scan tomorrow to make sure there is no major damage. Broadfoot is nursing a persistent ankle problem and he is recieving intensive treamtent this week with a visit to a specialist imminent. Meanwhile, Papac still has some stitches in the nasty head wound he suffered in the collision with Hibs star Vardas Trakys and is rated doubtful for the Killie game. Steven Whittaker, Steven Naismith and Steven Davis all had to pull out of international action this week with knocks but should be OK.
