Gerrard v lampard

Recommended Posts

Its been enough that Gerrard "carrys" the Liverpool side. Maybe he also carrys the England side. Without his name in the line up England just didnt look dangerous at all.

IMO Lampard is a good player but he shines that bit more at Chelsea coz he has Makelele, Essien, Robben etc around him (a bit like Ferguson when he had Albertz, Gio etc), but when Lampard is in a midfield that is only "good" like last night he struggles to make an impact.

Gerrard is truly world class player. His work rate is up there with the best and he guarentees 15-20 goals a season from midfield along with the same amount of shots that hit the woodwork. He will also provide the same amount of assists.

He has everything from pace, skill, power, hunger and energy and he can play anywhere across the midfield.

England seriously missed him last night.

Totally agree with all that. Lampard looks like the little boy lost when he's supposed to be the one to rely on.

I thought Terry would have got it anyway at the time, but IMO Gerrard should have been made captain as he is in the middle of the pitch and is a great driving influence on the team.

And on a side note, ive seen the OG loads of times from last night.... and its still funny. :D

Its an easy one surely? Put Gerrard in the middle and drop Lampard to the bench. McLaren has the balls to drop Beckham, so surely he can make this decision which seems pretty obvious to most people watching.

Yeah agree with that.

Id also bring Beckham back and play a 5 man midfield of:

_______________Parker_______________

Lennon__Beckham___Gerrard_____J Cole (who is almost fit again)
