Are Contract Renewals and Transfer Dealings Indefinitely On Hold

Recommended Posts

With Martin Bain now suspended and highly likely to be departing as our CEO we have to wonder who will take charge of player contract renewals and our dealings in the transfer market. Given that it's a suspension can we assume that these matters are now indefinitely on hold until the CEO's position is resolved?

Perhaps Phill Betts and Gary Withey can conduct some talks. They will know more regarding Whyte's budgets. Can't afford to stand still this summer and miss the good bosmans and appear as if we don't want to keep Davis, Whittaker etc.

It certainly looks as if someone is doing something if the story about Vaughan's agent being approached is true, although it could easily have been Martin Bain doing that and securing the young Norwegian defenders before he was suspended.

It looks to be in full motion, despite Bain being in the US of A with McCoist & Co. ...

Rangers Academy News confirmed the signing of the Norwegian twins Tom and Kim Skogsrud, but also confirms the release of a number of youngsters:

Meanwhile, several Reserve and under-19 players have now been released by Rangers, this includes Andrew Shinnie, Stephen Stirling, Archie Campbell, Wayne Drummond, Cristiano Kisuka and Steven Hetherington.

I liked the look of Archie Campbell and am actually surprised that we let him go for nothing.

I knew about Stirling, Drummond and Kisuka last week, but the other departures are news to me. Can't believe we're releasing Andy Shinnie since he's one of the ones who's been a really talented prospect for a number of years. Wonder what's happened with him?

What's elfi saying?

He said the following regarding the Norwegian twins on another forum earlier today -

They played in a friendly towards the end of the season. http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2011/03/15/trialists-feature-in-friendly-win/

They looked solid defenders and good additions without being spectacular. The No.9 was also from Man City, French striker Emerick Hippias. He went off injured in that game but has been back since and scored in another game, he looked decent but I don't know if Rangers followed up their interest.
