Andrew Disckosn has retweeted from someone in Australia who seems to be a Tim. Apparently we have "won a watch as he is a great player". We dont necessarily need players who have had a great career - Dado Prso would be testament to that.

I knew of Dado though. He'd scored 4 goals in one CL game V Deportivo, and spent most of his career in France with Monaco. This guy has spent his entire career in Australia, not exactly a hotbed of top quality football.

You are mis-reading what I typed Zaps.

 

I said Andrew Dickson retweeted from someone else. It was the someone else who said we had won a watch. The someone else isnt in the know.

 

Also, you are getting the WRONG Andrew Dickson. The one that uses Twitter is employed on the media side at Rangers, not the one who deals in transfers. There are TWO Andrew Dickson's employed at RFC.

Now you are being facetious and, it has to be said, economical with the truth.

 

From what I have seen nobody has said McCoist has nothing to do with transfers - but rather that he identifies the players and leaves the financial negotiations to Whyte & Smith.

It doesnt change the fact that there are players who will be largely unknown who will still turn out to be very reasonable for us. Novo came from the Scottish 1st division which I doubt is of a better standard than the Australian league - and he turned out OK for us. Until he came to Scotland none of us knew of him either. And likely wouldnt have were it not for him being right on our doorstep.

 

I guess the point I am making is that when we have no idea about someone and having not seen him play at all, we should reserve judgement and be non-committal in either direction.
