Yet another scandal rocks Scottish football

Recommended Posts

In Scotland it never rains but it pours. Late last night our game was once again tarnished with an ugly incident. However, it did not greatly affect the outcome of the game as the establishment club once again achieved victory against all the odds.

Peter Lawell will no doubt be contacting the powers that be to seek clarification and question the sporting integrity of Scottish football after Celtic were forced to finish a game playing against 11 men. Quite how Dunfermline were able to finish the game with an extra man on the pitch is currently unknown but referee Bobby Madden and his assistants will no doubt be called into the main corridors of power in Scottish football; down at Celtic park, to explain their (in)actions.

With the knowledge that Celtic had previously gone 2 months without defeating SPL opponents playing with a full compliment and the advantage of 11 players on the field it was quite a risk by Mr Madden to allow Dunfermline to complete 90 minutes without a single player receiving a red card.

Madden could well find himself refereeing lower down the league ladder during the next fixture card and the administrators of Scottish football can only hope that the man in the middle when Celtic host St. Mirren is not negligent in his duties and finds a reason to restrict the Paisley club to a fairer 10 men on the field of play.

Celtic’s struggles in competing when their opponents have this numerical advantage is well documented and it would be unfair to expect Celtic to try and keep pace with the Rangers title charge if every week they are battling against the opposition with the odds stacked against them.

It's numerical advantage Craig. He's making fun of the situation by saying that Celtic have struggled when their opponents have the 'advantage' of playing 11v11. That's the way I read it anyway. If S_A can clear it up one way or the other, I'll publish it for him.

When it went to 2-1, I' ll bet he had the e-mail ready to send.

What would it be like if we had an official sitting at the SPL and constantly had players being sent off against us ?????

The Samaritans' helpline and the radio clyde phone in would be red hot with timmies.
