Big thread on them on FF yesterday, which got deleted. There seems to have been a meeting with some FF members and some people from RU.

My major gripe is that they are asking for fan's names and email addresses but refuse to give any details about who is involved in it from their side.

They seem to claim to the people involved have no prior involvement with any fan's sites or fans organisations. Seems strange. They have suddenly become active but have done nothing themselves over the past 10 years? Why not?

They also seem to be reinventing the wheel to an extent. A lot of what they are doing has already been done by the RST.

I was at that meeting on Monday, i am not involved with RangersUnite but went along purely as an interested supporter.

These guys are ordinary supporters who are new to the supporters forums, they have no prior history of being involved with any of the supporters organisations nor supporters Reps, They have no prejudices or agendas against any other supporters organisation and seek dialogue with them.

They been working away in the background and have made some useful contact in the legal field and financial sectors. They contacted Brian Kennedy and he has been helping them in an advisory capacity. Indeed BK invited them along to one of the press conference as observers, he has given them some other good contacts in the football club takeover specialist field.

They have a few legal and financial matter to conclude as yet, then they will present their ideas to the general Rangers support, when their identities will be revealed. They felt better to do the ground work under the radar rather than trumpeting there ideas before they had anything concrete to offer the support. Not to mention once the anti-Rangers propaganda machine get's their names and ideas in the public domain, the trashing would commence.

I was very impressed with what they will offer the support and i will be buying into their concept of supporters ownership, whether they can gain full fan ownership in the future or a partial ownership within the Charles Green consortium.

The guys seem to be working hard on this which is to their credit.

I understand (and share) the concerns about their background but I'm sure we'll find out more soon enough. Good on them for giving it a go! :)

So why are they setting themselves up in opposition to RST, aiming to do exactly what the RST are doing? Surely that shows a prejudice against the RST?

Why do they think it can't be done through RST? A lot of the anti-RST feeling runs through the forums and it stretches the credibility a bit to say that they know nothing of it through the forums.

As I said before, they seem to be reinventing the wheel. There are a number of people in the support who have done all that before and could have helped them.

It's a big assumption that the press are going to pay the slightest bit of attention to them. For example, have the press ever made any comment about the current RST chairman? The press will likely pay no attention to them.

Although perhaps it's not the press that they are really worried about....

I think like a lot of the support the lack of progress in supporters ownership prompted them to become involved. They saw an opportunity with the fans goodwill being channelled into a fund, to jockey the support into position of offering any of the consortiums or bidders like CG a financial stream. But also money up front to put into any takeover pot.

I may be speaking out with their ideas, but i got the impression a "share issue" is not what they want to invest in, but rather use the supporters money shortly to buy a part ownership, with full ownership being the long term aim, again being financed by a supporters membership scheme?

Utmost Security of the supporters monies allied to the legal requirements of this, is what is holding them off from pitching the concept to the fans at an earlier date.

Like they said at the meeting, they have not done any public speaking never done any media work, so are a little apprehensive about the media attention to themselves. However they are actively seeking to have any Rangers friendly (no laughing please) media brought on board.

They came across as genuine honest Bears wishing only for the best for the support and ULTIMATELY THE RANGERS.
