SFA to ask Rangers to use Ibrox

Recommended Posts

The SFA are planning on asking Rangers and Celtic if they can use their stadiums for the Scottish Cup Semi Finals due to maintenance work being carried out at Hampden. There wouldn't be a huge problem if we said no as Porkheed would be used for both no doubt.

Tough one.

Most of us would want to say no but if we do that we put cash into Celtic's purse.

That said, if a semi-final doesnt involve either Rangers or Celtic then they could hold it at Tynecastle or Easter Road for example.

According to the Sunday Post the SFA might have a problem if the unwashed get to the final. They'd either have to crawl to Rangers or the SRU for Murrayfield.

Maybe they wait till it becomes clearer who will be involved there? Going by the last draw, they may not need a 20k plus stadium ...

On a sidenote, I was under the impression that Hampden was the newest of the Glasgow football grounds? (That is, the one who was revamped last.)
