Rangers donate Dundee Utd Gate Receipt Share to Charity

CHARLES GREEN and the Board of Rangers Football Club has noted speculation regarding possible outcomes of gate distribution as a result of Rangers' decision not to take tickets for the Scottish Cup match against Dundee United at Tannadice.

 

The chief executive said: â??The Club was contacted by Dundee United requesting us to waive our rights to the share of the gate under Cup Competition Rule 46©, this was declined.

 

"It has been decided by the board that any proceeds from gate receipts due to the Club will be donated to the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice Brick by Brick Appeal and Erskine charities via the Rangers Charity Foundation.�

Brilliant.... hope it's a sell-out now....wonder if the 'inundation' of other fans offers will cease.:whistle:

Good move by CG...on 2 fronts.

 

Firstly, it shows we aren't greed b******s. we are not doing this for monetary reason - its about principal.

 

Secondly, if the SFA try to change the rules, they are not depriving us of money....they are depriving charity!!

Not sure why we are doing this. We are entitled to the cash. Teams come to Ibrox and are happy to take their 40% even if they bring only 100 fans. We should be taking Dundee Utd's cash and keeping it.

 

It's a wonderful gesture and symbolic as much as anything else to show this isn't about money.
