Nottingham Forest name Alex McLeish as new manager

Recommended Posts

Taking over a club who is in good form and pushing up the league then turning them the other way to win only 1 game in 7 against the bottom club says it is enough time. And then coming out with this:

Their form has been inconsistent all season, true they were a point off the play-offs but in that league you often only need a couple of wins to push you near the top 6.

I'm not saying it was a good start and football is cut throat these days but bloody hell, if 40 odd days is long enough now we'd be as well giving out 1 month contracts to managers.

I do agree with the 40 day point in general for sure. But to come in and make a team play so bad instantly takes some doing, including getting beat by lower league sides in the cup. Id expect a manager to come in and keep the rowers going then improve on it, not to take the sail out of it.

1) The bloke ODriscoll had Forest in play off contention (he is now doing a decent job at trying to keep Bristol C up),

2) Eck comes in and they fall away with only 1 win against the bottom side.

3) Billy Davies wins 2 out of 2 and all of a sudden they have a great chance of the play offs again.

All with the same set of players.
