How can we be running at a loss due to the wage bill?

Recommended Posts

did we though? that all depends what the managers expectations were from the board. now it looks like winning promotion was the aim(as poor as that is), so why were we allowed to carry a wage bill of £7m to gain promotion from the countries lowest league when a budget of half a million or even less would have done.

Well, with the amount of time we had available to replenish the squad, we didn't have a lot of options.

We could have gone for cheaper players who were only good for this level, but what's the point in that?

It's not as if most players will accept a 1 year deal either so if we're planning to be back in the SPL in 3 years, then a balance has to be found.

Fans are complaining as it is about a lack of flair in the side. What would they have been like with the cheaper option?

I don't see how the gamble wasn't taken, you can't pick and choose with TUPE, it's all the staff or nothing. So unless Green had secret agreements with certain players for them to reject it...

but not all transferred over. they done green and rangers a favour walking out. we couldnt afford them and there is never any guarantee we would have sold them.

Is the fraction of our turnover not a business plan rather than something meant to be happening right now? I could be wrong there.

I think you are wrong stb. Unless Charles Green had just come back from the future and stepped into an interview slightly confused that is.

would surely have made business sense mate? frankly the money we are shelling out in wages at this level and what we are getting in return for them doesnt compute.

3 years is a long time in football. the players we could have signed to get us out of division 3 and 2 and save us a fortune would have been moved on by the time we are back at the top.

there are flair players out there mate on lower wages than the ian blacks and dean shiels. we played against a little genius a few weeks back. easton. he was very exciting and is the kind of player i would pay to watch. gary teale, a flair player for this level who would not have commanded the 7 grand a week templeton and black did. kenny mclean another.
