Rangers advertising campaign being investigated ASA confirms

"The Drum"

The campaign ran following the liquidation of Rangers, ...

Ahem, wrong. Rangers the club has never ceased to exist. Rangers' oldco is in the process of liquidation, but not liquidated as yet (nor anytime soon).

... which led to the new holding company being formed as a result ...

Ahem, wrong. The new holding company was not formed as a result of "the liquidation", it was formed during administration with the aim to buy the club's assets from the oldco. Maybe Green should have bought some old company with a longer "trading history" to sneak into Europe.

... and buying the assets to the club, before being accepted into the Third Division by the Scottish Football League. This has led to consternation among fans with many claiming the club to be the same as before, while many claim otherwise (see the comments here for example.)

Comments on a board or website are as useful a representation of people's opinion as are comments to someone's blog. What counts in the real world are the relevant football authorities. To a "man", they all have told the world that Rangers FC is Rangers FC. If that does not fit into your own universe, so be it. Just leave us with reality and dream on.

We should all log complaints about ceptics 125th celebrations last year......all their badges, logos etc have 1888 on them.

1888 + 125 = 2013, not 2012 which was the year the advertising was run.....
