In the blue corner . . . battle for heart of Rangers is rejoined (Herald article)

Have you heard anything about who?

Same old faces or somebody new?

A few people have been mentioned so it's just a case of joining the dots.

1. Jim McColl

The one guy we'd all want in charge. Hugely rich, very successful, would work with fans and doesn't suffer fools gladly. But will he spend his own money? A lot will be required to buy the club.

2. Dave King

Another reasonably popular guy who has the money to buy and safeguard the club's future. But will his recent tax problems means he's considered a fit and proper person?

3. Dougie Park

Still recuperating abroad from ill-health - as well as enjoying his new baby. Probably not rich enough to go it alone but may be dragged into it as time goes on.

4. Brian Kennedy

As long as we hear Gordon McKie's name, we can be assured BK retains an interest and he'll still be annoyed at not securing the purchase last year. But not a huge fans' favourite.

if pushed, I'd go for a combination of 1 and 2. King buying and putting up the cash with McColl possibly fronting it for credibility reasons. But, this is guesswork and I'm far from convinced that these guys will want to spend the sums required to buy the club. As it stands at least. This means another summer of uncertainty and I'd fancy a call for us not to renew soon enough.

orlit are a company who are billing rangers for work they did for green.

but thats ok according to some.

The company owns it's own defunct takeover vehicle. Why shouldn't we owe costs for the organisation of investment in it?

FYI:

Not counting Green, the blocks of shares owned by whoever was behind these 3 investment vehicles:

Hargreave Hale Ltd

Artemis Investment Management LLP

Blue Pitch Holdings

were the 3 biggest shareholders immediately following admission to the AIM.

Closely followed by this bunch:

Margarita Funds Holding Trust

Cazenove Capital Management Ltd

Legal & General Investment Management Ltd

Insight Investment Management Ltd

Have any of their identities been revealed or are this lot who own the majority of the club still faceless/nameless?

so we the fans should pay for the work done by green in buying us. even though hes got millions for doing it himself.

if your buying a house you pay for the survey not the people who rent it off you or come round for partys.

No but you might have agency fees to cover unless you sold it in the classifieds.

"At least two high net-worth Rangers fans are closely monitoring events, and one would be prepared to move immediately if he felt it was in the best interests of the club."

Not this all over again! Was sick of hearing of these Rangers men last time who would only move if it was in the clubs best interests, for nothing to ever happen.

I wouldn't say what happened back then is 100% clear.

Perhaps it wasn't a level playing field.
